Monday
Journey Lip Sync?
antiMusic reports: A Journey fan going by the name of Rockndeano has accused Journey frontman Steve Augeri of lip synching during the band's shows. A discussion of the issue began on Melodicrock.com but he quickly saw the need for a dedicated site to discuss the controversy, so he launched a blog on June 1st. To back-up the claims he has posted several songs via YouSendIt but accused the band of having them removed (we were too lazy to trackdown and listen to any).

Here is a bit of what Rockndeano has to say: "Lead singer Steve Augeri, has had some serious vocal problems the last year or so, and after many hundreds of man hours breaking down concert bootlegs and analyzing 'live' songs from different venues, I have levied the charge against my once favorite band....They use tapes for lead vocals. Yes, you heard that right. Journey has resorted to using tape for lead vocals live." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Wednesday
Gay Aiken Regrets
antiMusic reports: The man that sparked the "Gay Aiken" controversy five months ago now says he regrets telling his story to a tabloid. John Paulus, a former Green Beret, claimed that he had met American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken through a gay website and had a one night stand with the singer in December of 2005.

"In an very callow and selfish moment I relayed the story to the National Enquirer," Paulus wrote on his blog last Friday. "The next day I had come to realize what I had done- I defied the trust of someone. I attempted to rectify my error by seeking a solution to stop the story from being printed. Through an entertainment attorney I had a cease and desist letter sent to America Media Corp, the owner of the National Enquirer. The story had been stopped temporarily until it was leaked to Billy Masters by one of his sources inside of Star Magazine. Billy Masters went on to provide the information to the New York Post which ran it as a blind item." [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Aerosmith/Motley Crue's Evil Tour
antiMusic reports: Some bands are loners and some can't stand the idea of going it alone on the long hard road of touring. Aerosmith fits that last category and after sharing the stage with bands ranging from Cheap Trick to KISS in recent years, the band has decided they needed a bit more decadence for their next tour so they are teaming up with Motley Crue for a co-headlining run at North America this Fall dubbed the "Route Of All Evil Tour".

The dates have been announced and the debauchery will commence on September 14th in the rock mecca of Holmdel, NJ and conclude with a 'hanging chad' celebration on November 24th in W. Palm Beach, Florida. Tickets to the first few dates go on sale Saturday. [see full story for dates]- Click Here for the Full Story

Our favorite is the walrus chicken in a boat in the sky with the naked woman. It has sort of a Norman Rockwell on Quaaludes meets Salvador Dali quality to it.]

Zakk Wylde Scam Suit
antiMusic reports: Zakk Wylde has filed a lawsuit against 357 Customs, a company that was selling Zakk Wylde branded products that apparently wasn't filling fan's orders or promising more than they delivered (see below). The following post was made to the official BLS site about the situation: "Berserkers - I know you have been awaiting my response to 357 Customs' unscrupulous conduct in connection with their promotion. I have filed a lawsuit against 357 Customs."

The following is some information from wikipedia about the 357 situation: There is currently a dispute involving several 357 Customs promotions and Zakk Wylde Gibson (Epiphone) guitars. Although the promotion was not run, or personally endorsed by Zakk Wylde, the company 357 Customs does have a business relationship with him. This promotion is a purported scam regarding a promotion run by 357customs.com in which they promised a "free" Zakk Wylde branded Epiphone guitar upon the purchase of several Zakk Wylde branded goods included in a variety of bundles. Said goods included $100 gift certificates, diecast miniatures, and mp4 audio/video players, as well as miscellaneous Zakk Wylde styled paraphernalia. The cost of bundles was significant, often in the range of a few hundred dollars and many customers willingly made several purchases in order to receive several Zakk Wylde branded guitars.
