Van Halen Reunion |
KNAC reports: MelodicRock.com has issued the
following report: "No more teasing. Never tease where Van Halen is concerned...
I have information from a highly placed source that Van Halen will likely
tour in 2007 with David Lee Roth as frontman.
Negotiations are currently underway to
re-unite Van Halen with their original frontman for a tour in 2007 that
will take in America and possibly other territories. While nothing in the
world of Van Halen is set until the band walk out on stage, I can confirm
that negotiations between all parties have been underway for some time,
trying to put together a big 2007 reunion tour.[see full story for more]-

Townshend
blows off Stern |
AP reports: Howard Stern's radio guests expect
him to air their dirty laundry and play along. Pete Townshend isn't one
of them. The legendary Who guitarist-songwriter ducked out of his scheduled
interview on Stern's Sirius Satellite Radio show on Wednesday upon hearing
Stern talk about a touchy subject for him - his 2003 arrest in London on
suspicion of possessing child pornography. Townshend was cleared of the
charges.[see full story for more]- Click

U2
Church |
Launch reports: A communion service based
on the music of U2 has become the latest trend for a number of Episcopal
churches across the U.S. The U2Charist--named after the band and the Eucharist
communion--weaves songs by the Irish rockers into a church service along
with corresponding slides.
Kicking off with "Pride (In the Name Of
Love)," the service also incorporates images from historical civil rights
campaigners such as Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Rosa Parks.[see full

Hendrix |
Reuters reports: A private bidder paid $15
million for the rights to hit songs by U.S. rock guitarist Jimi Hendrix
at an auction on Thursday, but a company owned by the musician's family
said it will sue to prove it owns the songs.

including "Hey Joe," "Purple Haze," "Voodoo Child," and "Foxy Lady," were
sold over the telephone in New York by the estate of Michael Frank Jeffrey,

No Longer A Virgin |
hecklerspray reports: A quick test - sing
the last Janet Jackson single? No? OK, hum the last Janet Jackson single?
Not that either, huh. Right, can any of you even name the last Janet Jackson
single, or at least come vaguely close to naming it?
Chances are you don't know that either
- the last Janet Jackson single to be released around the world was called
So Excited. And, no, we don't know how it goes because the British release
date keeps getting pushed back. None of this sounds particularly healthy
for Janet Jackson or her 20 Y.O album, does it? In fact, things are so
generally unhealthy for Janet Jackson's album that her boyfriend Jermaine
Dupri - president of Virgin Records' urban division - has just either quit
(or been sacked from) his job. And if this doesn't mean that Janet Jackson
is going to whack her boobies out again in the next week or so, nothing
does.[see full story for more]- Click

Posh
boys can't take drugs |
pr-inside reports: Rock hellraiser LIAM GALLAGHER
has hit out at recent rehab attendees PETE DOHERTY and KEANE star TOM CHAPLIN,
calling the pair "lightweights". The OASIS frontman is disgusted with how
quickly contemporary rockers go to rehab to treat their addictions to drugs
and alcohol.
He says, "None of us have ever been in
(London rehab clinic) The Priory, like all these little idiots today. They
have one little line, they have one burn and they're all in rehab. "That
Pete Doherty is cabbaged already. And it's like, 'How old are you? Priory
at 27 years of age? You idiot.' "Posh boys can't take drugs, man. They're
lightweights."- Click
