Sabbath Reunion |
sleazeroxx.com reports: Ozzy Osbourne's bandmates
in heavy metal group Black Sabbath have reunited without the singer for
a planned tour early near year, a spokeswoman said on Wednesday.
The threesome have joined forces with vocalist
Ronnie James Dio, who sang in the band during two stints in the 1980s and
1990s after Osbourne was ousted for his prodigious drug abuse, but will
bill themselves as "Heaven and Hell."
Lest anyone think that Osbourne has been
ostracized again, representatives for the so-called "Prince of Darkness"
issued a separate statement, announcing "there is only one Black Sabbath,"
and that he would join forces with his old Birmingham buddies for a tour
and new album late next year.[see full story for more]-

Duran
Duran Split |
Launch reports: After launching a much-hyped
reunion with all five original members, new wave pioneers Duran Duran have
announced that guitarist Andy Taylor is once again leaving the band, just
as he did in 1985.
In a message posted on their MySpace page,
Duran Duran state: "We know that there has been a tremendous amount of
speculation over the past few weeks regarding Andy Taylor's continued involvement
with the bandAs of last weekend, however, the four of us have dissolved
our partnership and will be continuing as Duran Duran without Andy, as
we have reached a point in our relationship with him where there is an
unworkable gulf between us and we can no longer effectively function together.[see

Crazy
Babs |
TMZ reports: Maybe Barbra Streisand is just
really trying to make sure she knows where superfan Rosie O'Donnell is
at all times. As The Smoking Gun reveals in the rider for her current concert
tour, Babs is requiring metal detectors at every door, on-call security
staff, and even a police-dog sweep of the venue before she takes the stage
for soundcheck. And not only does there have to be all this security, but
plain-clothed guards have to be "neatly dressed in dark jackets, blazers,
or sweaters." Amongst the other curiosities in Barbra's rider are 150 folding
chairs for her staff and five count 'em, five living room sets, all
of which have to be fabric covered, but not in vinyl.-

Queen
Recording |
blabbermouth.net reports: The union of Paul
Rodgers and QUEEN members Brian May and Roger Taylor is leading to new
material. There have been hints about them going into the studio this fall,
and May wrote on his BrianMay.com web site, "Roger and Paul Rodgers and
I have been in the studio the last few days working on NEW NEW NEW material
... quite an occasion really. Apart from our excursions with Dave Stewart
for Nelson Mandela a couple of years back (most of which never got heard)
this is our first QUEEN new recording session for about 15 years. It may
turn into an album ... it may lead elsewhere, but right now we are HAVING
FUN! And ..... it sounds pretty amazing to my ears ... very different from
anything Paul or Queen have ever done. And pretty epic!!" [see full story

Britney Had a Jayden |
antiMusic reports: For the two or three readers
that actually might care about such silliness, the earth shattering news
making the rounds on the web today is that Britney Spears and K-Poser's
second son's name is actually Jayden James not Sutton Pierce.
The false name came from supposed sources
close to Britney, guess they weren't that close. The birth certificate
was filed with Los Angeles officials this week. The official birth certificate
records that Jayden James Federline was born on September 12 at Cedars
Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, according to Reuters. [see full story for

iPod
Hacked |
thetripwire reports: If you are sick of only
being able to use iTunes files on your iPod, those days might be over very
soon. Although I have never complained about it, as Apple's music store
is ridiculously easy to navigate, hacker Jon Lech Johansen got tired of
the man telling him what he can and can't put on his portable music player.
According to an article in Reuters, Johansen has cracked Apple's code that
keeps iPod owners from playing songs from competing online music stores.
It didn't take long for the hacker to sell
his code to a company for licensing. DoubleTwist is the company he has
selected to license his program[see full story for more]-
