Slayer Surgery

Blabbermouth reports: The SLAYER-headlined "Unholy Alliance Tour: Preaching to the Perverted", featuring LAMB OF GOD, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MASTODON, and THINE EYES BLEED, and originally slated to launch on June 6 (06/06/06) in San Diego, CA will now kick off on June 10 at the East Peoria Convention Center in Peoria, IL.

The postponement of the tour's start date is due to SLAYER bassist/vocalist Tom Araya's minor gallbladder surgery which successfully took place late last week. Araya is doing fine, recuperating at home. [see full story for tweaked dates]- Click Here for the Full Story

Rancid Summer

punbands reports: Rancid has begun announcing summer tour dates in support of their comprehensive new DVD project. The band will play throughout July in a number of southern U.S. states, supported on a number of dates by the Briefs and playing at least one date with Reel Big Fish.

This is Wilson's second year of being nominated amongst other high-profile musicians and actors who are vegetarians. Staff Meeting: Mark Hensch

antiMusic reports: A lot of people work hard to make antiMusic what it is. So with our 8th anniversary we felt it was time to spotlight each writer so you can get to know them a little better. Over the next few weeks we will be posting a small portion of each staff person's new profile page. So let's get to know Mark Hensch a little better.

Mark has been with antiMusic for over 2 years. He recently took on the task as editor of the relaunched ThrashPit.com but still keeps up with cool indie bands with his Hensch's Hometown Heroes series on antiMusic. His first concert was Blink-182 and Green Day when he was in 7th grade. He lists Shadows Fall, YOB, Enslaved, Mastodon, Nile, Ogre, Dresden Dolls, Blood Brothers, Pig Destroyer, Indian as his Top 10 Favorite artist.
