Sick |
Blabbermouth reports: Former SKID ROW frontman
Sebastian Bach sang lead vocals for the last two songs ("Night Train" and
"Paradise City") of GUNS N' ROSES' set at the Wembley Arena in London,
England on Sunday (July 30) after singer Axl Rose was taken ill and was
unable to finish the show. The band performed an abbreviated set which
reportedly featured no new songs, a departure from the rest of the tour
where several "Chinese Democracy" numbers were regularly aired at every
performance.[see full story for more]- Click

Janet
Vs MTV |
TMZ reports: Fans of Janet Jackson are in
a fury over the alleged lack of support MTV is showing their first Icon.
Many posts on Janet's official message
board are complaining that MTV has yet to premiere or even announce a date
of a debut for the singer's latest video "Call On Me," which was first
played on BET last Wednesday. Fans have flooded the MTV.com message boards
with tons of Janet support, but, according to these fans, many posts were
deleted by a moderator for "obscene, vulgar, abusive or harassing comments."
There is much speculation over why Janet
has been "blacklisted" from MTV airplay, but most fingers point to her
2004 Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction," which was co-produced by MTV, who
was fined by the FCC for the mishap.[see full story for more]-

KISS
Nazi Bust |
BW&BK reports: Die-hard KISS fans are
no doubt aware that it's forbidden to wear shirts and sell CDs featuring
the original KISS logo in Germany because the "SS" in the band name is
similar to the Nazi SS logo used during Hitler's reign. Since 1980 all
KISS products sold in Germany have sported an altered logo. THE TRACEELORDS
frontman Andy Brings, who is based in Germany, has posted the following
news update at his official MySpace page:
"A girl has been interrogated be the police,
they took her shirt and went to the shop where she bought it and took the
rest of the shirts as well. I mean, come on...these are Rock´n Roll-shirts
with no political intention AT ALL! At least my KISS shirts are, and I
guess so are yours! Is this really what German police should be dealing
with?"[see full story for more]- Click

Let
Bo Rock |
antiMusic reports: Some American Idol fans
hoped that Bo Bice would finally bring some rock credibility to the televised
karaoke contest. Unfortunately, Bo wasn't allowed to rock instead he was
put through the RCA Cheese Factory ® by Clive Davis ® for his debut
album and the result was a Nickleback B-Sides album. The fans weren't happy.
So some have taken it upon themselves to protest to the King of Cheese
himself a.k.a. Clive 'Schmaltz' Davis. They have started an online petition
urging the cheese master to drop the outside cheese makers and let Bo write
and record his own music for his second album. In other words, let him
rock! It's an uphill battle and not likely to pay off because despite reality
smacking him in the face, Clive always seems to think he knows best, but
if you want to join the valiant effort to let Bo be Bo, then click the
full story link to sign the petition. - Click

Cancels Red Square |
antiMusic reports: [We received the following
statement from Eric Clapton's tour publicist] Unfortunately the Eric Clapton
performance scheduled to take place on August 3rd in Red Square, Moscow
has been cancelled. Eric Clapton was delighted at the prospect of playing
in Red Square before 20,000 of his Russian fans. The Russian promoter had
been issued a permit for Eric Clapton to perform in Red Square signed by
all appropriate Russian City and State authorities. However, earlier today,
Russian officials withdrew the permit. Eric Clapton is extremely sorry
to disappoint his numerous Russian fans but the circumstances of the cancellation
are completely beyond his control. Ticket-holders should return their tickets
to the box offices where they purchased the tickets for a refund.-

KFC
Fall Out |
PR reports: Taking a well-deserved break from
the road to begin recording their first album since From Under the Cork
Tree (Island Records), which received rave reviews from fans and critics
alike, Chicago-based Fall Out Boy members Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman have
signed on to a petition calling on KFC to end its suppliers' worst abuses
of chickens. The petition is sponsored by peta2-the world's largest youth
animal rights organization. Andy-who went vegan three years ago-and Joe
signed the petition at a concert headlined by rock legend and longtime
peta2 pal Morrissey in London.
Andy and Joe urge KFC to "eliminate the
worst abuses that chickens suffer in the factory farms and slaughterhouses
of its suppliers, including crippling injuries because of cruel breeding
practices and the overuse of drugs, having their throats slit while still
conscious, and being dunked into tanks of scalding-hot water while they
are still alive and able to feel pain." Visitors to peta2.com can sign
their names to the petition as well. - Click

Lady
Sov Snarl |
PR reports: "Lady Sovereign, blah blah blah."
At this point, if you haven't heard of Lady Sovereign, you've been living
under an effing rock. The self-proclaimed 'biggest midget in the game'
has gone from the bloggers' champ to magazine-cover-vamp on both sides
of the pond, having graced the covers of URB, The Fader, and i-D to name
a fewand she hasn't even put out an album.
The plus-sized hype surrounding this pint-sized
20-year-old hailing from Wembley, England is the subject of her new single,
"Love Me Or Hate Me," set to impact radio nationwide on August 7th. All
punk-n-grime snot-nosed British attitude over an undeniable 808-fueled
electro-pop-n-lock beat courtesy of NYC producer Dr. Luke, Lady Sov snarls
on the chorus: "If you love me then, THANK YOU! If you hate me then, F#CK
YOU!" [dirty version of the song at the full story link. ]-
