AFI |
Audio Aggression reports: When AFI wrapped
up touring in support of 2003's 'Sing the Sorrow', the band began writing
for their seventh studio album. Front-man Davey Havok told MTV.com, "We
ended up writing somewhere between 80 and 100 songs. I have lyric books
full and full of complete songs. It was crazy. We just kept writing and
writing and writing...it's been a long process and it was a bit excessive."[see

Jack
White Silenced |
CMJ reports: The White Stripes have announced
that they will have to postpone their Japanese tour dates because singer
Jack White is suffering from an "acute vocal chord problem," according
to the band. A statement on the White Stripes website reveals that White
has been ordered by his doctors not to speak or sing for the next two weeks
to give his chords time to heal (which would kind of make all of that howling
about blue orchids pretty difficult). [see full story for more]-

Graham
Bonnet Speaks |
Rock N Roll Universe reports: In a brand new,
exclusive interview conducted by Rock N Roll Universe(www.rocknrolluniverse.com)
with vocalist Graham Bonnet (Rainbow, MSG, Alcatrazz, Impellitteri), the
legendary vocalist discusses his days in Rainbow, MSG, Alcatrazz and Impelliteri,
as well as what he's currently up to these days. Also covered in the interview
is Bonnet's upcoming appearance on Michael Schenker's 'MSG Tales Of Rock
And Roll' 25th Anniversary album, for which he contributed the title track.
A brief excerpt from the interview follows below :
RNRU : Would you ever consider it if Michael
were to ask you to sing full time for the band again?
GB : I don't think he will. I think he's
kind of happy with what he's got right now. I'm not quite sure if everybody's
thinking the same way I do, but I don't think he really wants to go through
what we went before. (Laughs) It was a bit of a mess sometimes. That's a
few years ago now. It wasn't a case of clashing personalities, it was clashing
beer glasses I think. (Laughs) [see full story for more]-

Beecher
Split |
Beecher reports: So, this is it. After almost
five long years of putting everything we have into this band, it has finally
brought itself to an end. For the whole time we've put all our creative
and physical energy into writing and performing music that we believed
in completely, and for the most part we've been underappreciated, misunderstood
and misrepresented by both the media and by the general public. We've never
been the UK's answer' to anybody; we've never been a fashioncore' band
or a noisecore' band and we've certainly never once adhered to any of
your bulls*** scene' rules. We are who we are and we played what we wanted,
and in our minds we've set an example and achieved more than we ever thought
possible. I'm sorry to say that it seems that right now, you either need
to look stupid or sound s*** (or more often than not a combination of the
two) to get anywhere in this scene,' two things that have never applied
to Beecher.
The reason for our break-up is a combination
of personal reasons that no one outside of our band needs to know, but
rest assured now is the time, the time for us all to get our lives back[see
