Britney Talks Crotch
antiMusic reports: For those that care, Britney took to her website on Thursday and explained about her recent behavior including giving some photographers a better view of her than they ever expected. "It's been so long since I've been out on the town with friends," Britney writes.

"It's also been 2 years since I've even celebrated my birthday. Every move I make at this point has been magnified more than I expected, and I probably did take my new found freedom a little too far. Anyway, thank God for Victoria's Secrets' new underwear line! I look forward to a new year, new music and a new me."

[For all of your emailing asking about "the photos" we don't have them but you can see them at the full story link. But first ask yourself, What Would Tyler Durden Do? ]- Click Here for the Full Story

Metallica Plot new CD, Return to Classic Sound?
blabbermouth.net reports: METALLICA has written about 25 songs for its ninth studio effort and is now concentrating on trimming that list to one album's worth of material, which it will begin recording in January. Drummer Lars Ulrich told Launch on Tuesday (December 5) that the band's summer European tour, on which METALLICA played its classic 1986 album "Master of Puppets" in its entirety, paved the way for the sound of the new album. "What I hear sounds very lively, very spunky, got a lot of energy," he said. "I think that the shows we played over the summer, we were definitely leaner and kind of in better shape than we've been in a long time. I mean, having to deliver 'Master of Puppets' for three months this summer definitely revitalized some of that stuff in us, and it's been kind of fun having that in the back of our mind as we've been going through this process. Cornell Does Jacko
pr-inside reports: Rocker CHRIS CORNELL is set to astound fans with his upcoming sophomore solo album, which contains his cover of MICHAEL JACKSON's classic BILLIE JEAN.

The AUDIOSLAVE singer, who used to front SOUNDGARDEN, admits the cover is a surprise choice, but insists fans will barely recognise the source material. He says, "There was once a time when Michael Jackson was cool. He was once at the cutting edge of music, even though it was pop. "There were two things about the song that appealed to me - the song is quite dark and I knew I could make it in to my own, like JOHNNY CASH did it with Soundgarden's RUSTY CAGE and NINE INCH NAILS' HURT.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

RIAA Want to Screw Artists?
tinfoilmusic.net reports: In a move to make them even more popular, the RIAA is seeking to reduce the royalty rate paid to artists. The agreement signed in 1981 is good for 25 years and ends, oh, real soon now.

The Digital Music Weblog points out that "During the period when piracy was devastating the record industry, the RIAA argues, profits for publishers rose as revenue generated from ringtones and other innovative services grew. Record industry executives said there was nothing strange about seeking a rate change that would pay less to the people who write the music."
