Slayer
Vs Stryper |
Blabbermouth reports: STRYPER frontman Michael
Sweet has commented on SLAYER's decision to cancel their previously announced
appearance at the third edition of the Monterrey Metal Fest, which was
to take place Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Coca Cola Auditorium
in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. SLAYER, who were scheduled
to co-headline the event with STRYPER, cited "personal reasons" as the
cause of the cancellation.
Commented Sweet: "We found out a few days
ago that SLAYER pulled out of the Mexico festival. According to the promoter,
it was due to the fact that STRYPER was on the bill. We only decided to
take the show when we found out that SLAYER was on the bill. We've always
wanted to do a show/tour with SLAYER in order to reach out to their fans/followers
but since they cancelled, we have decided to shoot a new video to the song
'Passion'.[see full story for more]- Click

Josh Medical Update |
punkbands reports: Boy Sets Fire have posted
an update concerning the condition ofJosh Latshaw who recently broke his
neck and 2 vertebrae and had a lung collapse at work: Josh is still in
the Shock Trauma Unit at University of Maryland (at first he was only meant
to be there 2-3 days, but that has obviously been extended as this was
more serious then originally known).
He had a frightening episode of vomiting
up old blood, but that is now resolved with some more surgery and the insertion
of yet another tube. The doctors have now said though that he will have
a full recovery, though they are not able to estimate how long it will
take. [see full story for info on a free download posted in thanks for

Copy Protection |
music.tinfoil reports: Microsoft revealed
today that no 32-bit versions of Windows Vista will be able to play back
"next generation high definition protected content" (translation - studio-released
BluRay and HD-DVD movies).
"This is a decision that the Media Player
folks made because there are just too many ways right now for unsigned
kernel mode code [to compromise content protection]. The media companies
asked us to do this and said they don't want any of their high definition
content to play in x32 at all, because of all of the unsigned malware that
runs in kernel mode can get around content protection, so we had to do
this," he said. [see full story for more]- Click
