Guns N' Idol
Blabbermouth reports: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson showed off her wildchild side on Monday night (August 14) when she joined heavy rockers METAL SKOOL to knock back shots of whisky onstage in Los Angeles.

The pop/rock star was dragged up on stage at the Key Club show after she refused to flash her breasts at singer Ralph Saenz. The 1980s-influenced rock tribute act then persuaded newly shorn Clarkson to glug from a bottle of Chivas Regal to prove that she "really knows how to rock."

The hitmaker then called on new boyfriend Ryan Key (YELLOWCARD) to join her for renditions of GUNS N' ROSES' "Sweet Child O' Mine" and JOURNEY's "Don't Stop Believing", backed by METAL SKOOL. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Slayer Rules
PR reports: The City of Fullerton, CA abruptly removed all 17 of Slayer's promotional bus benches. Twenty years of equipment and stage production was stolen out of their warehouse. Their 2006 U.S. Tour due to kick off 6.6.06 had to be postponed due to band member Tom Araya's emergency surgery. But none of these roadblocks prevented Slayer's brand new album, "Christ Illusion" (American Recordings/WBR), from making the highest chart debut of the band's career, coming in at #5 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums Chart.

In addition, "Christ Illusion" - executive produced by Rick Rubin and produced by Josh Abraham - is a Top 10 album internationally in its first week, debuting at #2 in Germany, #2 in Finland, #8 in Holland, #9 in Australia, and #6 in Austria.

die Hunns Return
PR reports: Expect the unexpected from die Hunns! Die Hunns has evolved from straight-up, kick-face punk rock band into a more complex rock n roll animal and their new CD - You Rot Me [Volcom Entertainment] is destined to shake up some preconceived notions of what this band is all about. [in stores September 26] No - one-trick pony - die Hunns are a five-headed beast that growls and snarls and purrs... frequently in the same song. You Rot Me - combines a slew of Rock n Roll, R n B and punk rock influences from the 60s to present date into highly memorable, hook-laden, well crafted songs with alternating female and male lead vocals and a plenty of rock n roll swagger. Not bravado - swagger. Die Hunns can back this s*** up! The beast has sharp teeth. Think Lou Reed's Transformer played by The Stooges and produced by Marc Bolan and then you are beginning to get the idea.[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Blabbermouth reports: MASTODON's drummer, Bränn Dailor, has told MTV.com that a certain English journalist is the one behind the online leak of the Atlanta metallers' forthcoming album, "Blood Mountain", last week.

"Hopefully one day, he'll introduce himself," Dailor joked about the journalist, who claimed he was one of the band's biggest fans. "[Our record label] traced it back to the guy who did it, and he got fired from wherever he was working. It's just so stupid. And it's such a sh---y copy. It sounds like sh--. I'm not concerned with record sales, because I think that if anyone's looking for it online to download it and listen to it, when it comes out [on September 12], they'll buy it anyways.
