My
Chemical Burn |
punkbands reports: My Chemical Romance was
not in a car crash as speculated earlier this week. The dorks burned themselves
while they were shoting their new video. Here is the official statement
from the band:
Here are the facts for you all and please
know that none of the injuries sustained were permanent nor intentional
and it really proves that sometimes these things happen and every person
should truly value what they have. Last week, while shooting a new video
for our new record, 2 of us sustained some damage more than we normally
would have. Gerard tore multiple ligaments in his ankle and Bob received
a bad burn to the back of his leg. [ooh pyro is so cool! See the full story

Jay-Z
All Wet |
hecklerspray reports: Since he retired from
music a few years ago, Jay-Z has been content to sit back and occasionally
pop up two thirds into someone else's pop song and make up a lot of words
that rhyme about how brilliant he is.
But that's not enough for Jay-Z - he only
wants to be bloody Angelina Jolie, doesn't he? After spending a decade
rapping about what lovely shoes he gets to spend all his money on, Jay-Z
is determined to help out those more needy than himself. And that's why
Jay-Z has joined up with MC Kofi Annan and the UN allstars to try and raise
awareness about the global water crisis. And quite right too, the lawn
in our back garden is starting to look rather tatty, so imagine how bad
the lawns in Africa must be.[see full story for more]-

dates have been listed on their site yet, so we'll be on pins and needles
until the official announcement is made.[see full story for more]-

Warped
Loses Another |
punkbands reports: It seems like we should
just have a special column for this kind of thing...but gypsy punks Gogol
Bordello have joined the ranks of mewithoutYou, Spitalfield, Gatsby's American
Dream etc. in dropping off of this years Vans Warped Tour. In their case,
they blame an injury to drummer Eliot Ferguson as the reason for ending
their tour plans. [maybe they should rename the SmartPunk stage the dumbpunk
stage as, according to MTV, the band's aren't paid to play it. Then again
it could be Ozzfest where they have to pay TO play. ] -
