Tool Riot
Blabbermouth reports: NBCSanDiego.com reports that video footage has surfaced of the incident Saturday night (August 5) when nearly 100 fans were hurt after thousands of rock fans surged forward at a San Diego performance by TOOL.

The Los Angeles band was the headliner Saturday night at the Street Scene 2006 music festival in the parking lot of the Qualcomm Stadium. The group had just taken the stage.

"Everyone was getting pushed up toward the front," said Eric Hanau, who was at the show. "People were getting crushed."

In the end, more than a dozen people went to the hospital after being crushed. One person is being treated tonight for life-threatening injuries. Multiple ambulances and paramedics were sent to the venue in the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot when the crowd got out of control [see full story for more including a video report] - Click Here for the Full Story

Music Makes Sluts
hecklerspray reports: There's nothing we like more than a good scientific study, especially if it concludes that children will basically turn into sex-crazed nymphobeasts within seconds of hearing a vaguely sexy pop song.

That's more or less the point of a study published in Pediatrics magazine, which has linked underage sex with children listening to songs with lyrics about sex. And it's a fair point, too - who can't say they've been influenced by the lyrics of a pop song now and again? For example, would we have precociously tried to forcefully sex up a librarian in 1991 if it weren't for Color Me Badd? No, but you try telling that to the police. .[sure blame it on the music, hormones have nothing to do with it see full story for more on this "study"]- Click Here for the Full Story

Dillinger Injury Plan
SMN reports: The Dillinger Escape Plan have posted the following update:

"Because there have been numerous people wondering what the f*** is going on, and because we haven't said anything yet, I feel as though we need to address what people who have been to the last two shows already know. Ben Weinman had to fly home the morning of August 4th to deal with some personal issues, and could not play the final four shows of this tour. Ben has played through injuries too numerous to count, and severe enough that most people wouldn't have even gotten out of bed, let alone play intense and physically demanding shows. He has played through sickness and ignored family emergencies to never ever miss a show, so when he tells me that he has to go home I know that he has to go home. .[ see full story for more] - Click Here for the Full Story
