Shout Factory reports: In recognition of the
first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and the devastation of New Orleans
and the Gulf coast, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will release a meaningful
reinterpretation of the Marvin Gaye classic What's Going On. Thirty-five
years after its original release, the evocative themes and social commentary
found in the songs on What's Going On are just as relevant today. Guest
vocalists Chuck D, Ivan Neville, G. Love, Guru and Bettye LaVette contribute
to The Dirty Dozen Brass Band's musical message. In stores August 29th,
Shout! Factory and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will donate a portion of
the proceeds from the sale of each copy of What's Going On to the Tipitina's
Foundation, benefiting the music community of New Orleans. [see full story

PR reports: King of the rock-opera ballad,
Meat Loaf. He's been gone since 1993 but now he's back! It has been thirteen
years since BAT OUT OF HELL II: BACK INTO HELL and now he's set to release
BAT OUT OF HELL III: THE MONSTER IS LOOSE appropriately on Halloween 2006.
This is the third and final installment of a trilogy that has spanned three
decades. Buzz for this long awaited follow up album is already mounting
after an unmastered version of the title track from the album "The Monster
is Loose" was leaked during recording.

Yahoo reports: Pop star Michael Jackson has
stumbled across a conspiracy by former attorneys, associates and advisers
to force him into financial ruin, his spokeswoman said on Monday.
The plot was discovered after someone leaked
documents to Jackson showing that unnamed former lawyers for the 47-year-old
singer tried to recruit others into a petition that would drag him unwillingly
into bankruptcy court, his spokeswoman and manager Raymone Bain said. [see

DECAPITATION will not be able to make the SIX FEET UNDER tour with DECAPITATED,

on this last tour that our fill-in drummer was not cut out for touring

PR reports: John Ondrasik is the main member
of Five for Fighting, a band known for creating sentimental songs which
inevitably end up commemorating weddings, graduations, and anniversaries
of all kinds. This singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist is possibly
best known for his single "Superman" from the 2000 album America Town but
is also responsible for . John is now preparing for the release of Two
Lights, a new album of delicate, piano-driven pop instrumentals accompanied
by his signature airy vocals. The album's first single "The Riddle" is
well a composed and sweetly infectious love song and every thing you would
hope for from Five for Fighting. John Ondrasik released the newest Five
for Fighting album Two Lights on August 1st on Columbia Records. Take a

PR reports: On Aug. 21, three of the bands
featured on the new female tribute band compilation Girls Got Rhythm --
ThundHerStruck, Zepparella and Ms. Fits -- will perform at a Hollywood
record release party for the album, which will be released the following
day. The show, which takes place at the Key Club on the Sunset Strip, sees
the groups open for Metal Skool, a "comedy tribute" band with an extremely
popular Monday night residency at the venue. Doors open at 8 p.m., and
Ms. Fits take the stage an hour later. All attendees will receive raffle
tickets at the door, and one lucky winner will be chosen at random to receive
a Champagne Sparkle Rock Candy guitar generously provided by Daisy Rock

Celebrity Week reports: The King of Schmalz
will take some time off from his Las Vegas Hilton gig later this month
to undergo hip surgery. Barry Manilow, 60, suffers from labrum tears, a
painful condition made worse by his performances, according to a statement
released by his publicist, Carol Marshall.
The crooner - whose hits include "Mandy"
and "Copacabana" - will perform through Aug. 27, before checking into a
Southern California hospital for outpatient arthroscopic surgery. [must

PR reports: Today's Philadelphia Inquirer
reports that when skateboard star and MTV personality Bam Margera marries
his fiancee Missy Rothstein this winter, the ceremony will be conducted
by FIREBALL MINISTRY front man James A. Rota. An ordained minister, Rota
is a longtime friend of Margera; his band was hand-picked by Margera to
appear on his "Viva La Bands" compilation last year, as well as a corresponding
tour. On Margera's Sirius Satellite Radio program, Radio Bam, last week,
Rothstein said that the wedding will take place on a Du Pont estate in

PR reports: Following the release of their
critically acclaimed album, Silent Shout, Sweden's The Knife announce plans

a fall tour that will see them traveling around the world in support of
