Weezer Split?
MTV reports: They've been a band for more than 13 years, releasing five albums and winning over an army of overly devoted fans in the process. But all that could soon be a distant memory, because it looks like Weezer might never make another album again. 

Last week, MTV News spoke to the band before the launch of its co-headlining tour with the Foo Fighters and the guys were more than candid about a whole host of subjects, including the fact that Make Believe could very well be their final LP. Dylan Boycott
Reuters reports: Music retailer HMV Canada has pulled Bob Dylan's CDs from its shelves to protest a deal to sell his new "Live at the Gaslight 1962" album exclusively in Starbucks coffee shops.

Fan Beating Probe
Blabbermouth reports: Patrick Sands of The Valley-Times News is reporting that the city of Lanett, Alabama has commissioned an independent external investigation into an incident at a Christian heavy metal concert on September 3 where two members of the Lanett Police Department allegedly used "extreme physical force" to arrest a young black male after shutting down the show. That external investigation should be completed in the near future.

BBC reports: The Sex Pistols and Dame Thora Hird are among the new names to be added to a celebrity Walk of Fame in London.

Lava Troubles
Reuters reports: Lava Records, home to such acts as the Click Five and Simple Plan, started laying off staff on Monday, three weeks after executive upheaval at its Atlantic Records parent, sources said. 

The label will continue with some dedicated staff, but one source acknowledged that Atlantic personnel will take on functions previously executed by Lava employees. The exact size of the Lava staff moving forward is unknown at this point. [see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Reuters reports: Harry Shearer has put his stamp on such iconic roles as Spinal Tap bass player Derek Smalls and "The Simpsons" nosy neighbor Ned Flanders, but he's about to add record label owner to his resume.

Gigwise reports: The son of R&B star Chaka Khan was yesterday ordered to stand trial over the shooting of a teenager at a party in September 2004.

Punk Music reports: Pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk has made has a new edition to his skateboarding video games coming out entitled "Tony Hawk: American Wasteland" to be release Oct. 18th. The cover work on this is quite possibly the most unoriginal thing I have seen. They ripped off The Clash's London Calling album cover.
