Backstreet
Korn |
Rockdirt reports: RollingStone.com caught
up with Brian 'Head' Welch and asked the former Korn guitarist why he left
the band last year. "When we first started, Korn had power over all of
our music and what we said -- the songs are pretty outspoken," Welch said.
"Then with the last record, it seemed like everybody shifted from being
down with the fans to wanting to make money, and our managers started getting
really involved. They were telling us what songs to play -- and, I mean,
they manage the Backstreet Boys! They started talking about hiring writers
for the new record. I don't know if they did. And I was going, 'Dude, this
is stupid.'[see full story for more]- Click

R.
Kelly is Ridiculous |
punkbands reports: Here is the latest from
Saves The Day in the studio: OK, sorry to do this here, but i can't take
it. R. kelly is ridiculous. As a matter of fact, he's so out of his mind
that we've created a new word for him- RIDICULATY!!!!! that's right, saves
the day is starting a feud with r. kelly. We can't take it anymore. "trapped
in the closet" is the most insane piece of crap i've ever seen. i can't
be the only one who's flabbergasted at how bad this "song" is. unbelievable.
almost as bad as my spelling. his acting performance of it on the vma's
was painful to watch. he is out of his mind. and if you haven't heard his
new "song" called "sex in the kitchen", you don't know what you're missing.
that is, if you consider not hearing a song about "cutting up tomatoes,
fruits and vegetables and potatoes" as missing out. he can't be serious.
he must be stopped. who will join us in this fight? tell a friend. pete[see

Sabbath |
OzzyHead.com reports: ...if you had asked
Iommi two years ago what he hoped to be doing in 2005, he'd have said he
wanted to be promoting a new Black Sabbath album, not a new Iommi disc.
At the time, Sabbath were in the studio in Wales working on new material.
But progress was slow, and by the time the bandmembers went their separate
ways, they had ideas for about only six songs ideas that have been gathering
dust since then. At present, Black Sabbath have no plans to return to the
studio to record those or any other songs.
"I've waited around a long time to do a
Sabbath album, and it's getting frustrating," Iommi said. "I'm getting
bored with the idea of waiting around any longer and I've got a lot of
music to put out and I just want to do it. I wanted to go and really work
on being in a band. So basically, that motivated me into making an album
with Glenn and Kenny. It's a great band and a great outlet."

Trendrunner
Records |
BW&BK reports: Transform Online has issued
a new interview with OBITUARY bassist Frank Watkins.
The following is an excerpt from the interview:
Q: why did you guys decide to stay with Roadrunner? This is your last record
for them, right? Fans' opinions of them are pretty split, between the death
metal fallout of the mid-90s and the NICKLEBACK thing
A: "Yeah, well, Roadrunner have always
kinda been a "flavor of the month" label. When they signed us, death metal
was huge. When NIRVANA hit it big, they signed bands like GRUNTRUCK. But
you know, I've never had serious problems with them... although I do feel
that they could've done more for us when we needed it. It seemed like whenever
we were reaching a critical point, they'd sign another band and we'd fall
by the wayside.[see full story for more]- Click

Death Suit |
BW&BK reports: Nothing went right that
night. There was the smash-up in the mosh pit, then the bar-side brawl.
Before it was all over, Wendy Laskas' husband, Thomas, lay bleeding to
death in a hallway at Ybor City's Masquerade nightclub while the band played
on.
Three months after her husband was fatally
stabbed, Wendy Laskas claims the nightclub's owners are to blame for his
death. On Thursday, Laskas' attorney filed a wrongful death lawsuit on
behalf of her husband's estate in Hillsborough Circuit Court against Masquerade.
The lawsuit alleges the club's owners were "negligent" when they allowed
Michael Pyne, the man charged with murdering Thomas Laskas, into the club
with a knife.[see full story for more]- Click
