80s Charlotte |
Good Charlotte fans can expect a bit of that retro beat on their next LP, which they plan to begin recording in December. "We touched on it a bit on our last album [The Chronicles of Life and Death], and there will definitely be a few songs on the new record that will go in that direction," Benji said. Arch Enemy Hit Top 100 |
This result further cements their position as one of today's genre leaders. The band are currently developing a whole new legion of devotees on this year's Ozzfest with their captivating live performances and staggering blend of melody and brutality.
Mike Amott (guitars) further conveys his excitement over the album's first week sales: "Hey Arch Enemies. It is amazing to see that Doomsday Machine debuted at #87 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Who would've thought pure f***ing metal would be on the Billboard charts. We salute all our U.S. friends and fans - thank you for the amazing support. Enjoy the album and don't break your necks. We shall be celebrating at the nearest Irish Bar and let the Guiness flow. See you at Ozzfest."[see full story for more]- Click Here for the Full Story

Newsted Speaks |
"It's the most complete demos I've ever been involved in," he says. "[Voivod singer] Snake has already chosen his effects -- exact timing of milliseconds for delay. We've had a long time to develop the demos, so there's about 23 or 25 songs that are absolutely listenable right now."
Like Metallica, Newsted was a huge fan of Voivod before he was invited to join and he remains a great admirer to this day. "They created something a long, long time ago that may have been emulated many, many times since -- but nobody can do it like the original," he offers.

Samhain DVD |
SAMHAIN was a transition for Glenn Danzig between the fierce cult punk phenom of the Misfits and the dark metal blues swagger of his self-titled current band Danzig. In the Fall of '83, Glenn Danzig grabbed Eerie Von (Rosemary's Babys), Steve Zing and Damien (Mourning Noise) for his new project SAMHAIN, dubbed by some as Goth/Metal/Punk. This DVD captures the intense beginning of SAMHAIN, "Live" on the heels of their debut album, Initium, at the now infamous Stardust Ballroom to a sell out crowd.
