"Here it is A moment in time courtesy of Al Flipside who documented the first Samhain L.A. show at the now demolished Stardust Ballroom on Sunset in Hollywood. There is no overdubbing or audio correcting, just the raw live show in all of its pandemonium and insanity. If you were lucky enough to be there, you know what it was like. If not, maybe this will give you a glimpse into a musical genre that was ignored by the mainstream music media but went on to influence generations of musicians and music fans worldwide." - Glenn Danzig
SAMHAIN was a transition for Glenn Danzig between the fierce cult punk phenom of the Misfits and the dark metal blues swagger of his self-titled current band Danzig. In the Fall of '83, Glenn Danzig grabbed Eerie Von (Rosemary's Babys), Steve Zing and Damien (Mourning Noise) for his new project SAMHAIN, dubbed by some as Goth/Metal/Punk. This DVD captures the intense beginning of SAMHAIN, "Live" on the heels of their debut album, Initium, at the now infamous Stardust Ballroom to a sell out crowd.
