Day in Pop Report for 05/25/2015
The 56-year-old was also charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and registration as well as having an open container of alcohol, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He posted $7,000 bail and his lawyer wouldn't elaborate on his arrest. "I don't know enough yet to comment on anything," Kristina Wildeveld said. Flav was caught driving 73 mph in a 45-mph zone and then 87 mph in a 55 mph, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. Read more here.
"I tried to buy you all a gift but I wasn't sure of sizes and favorite colors," the Bon Jovi frontman joked during the ceremony. "I did what I do best. I was so inspired by this invitation that I sat down and I wrote you a song." He went on to explain that he never performed the song before and he'll do his best this first time. "Wish me luck," he said as he picked up his guitar and read the lyrics from a music stand in front of the podium. "This isn't how your story ends. My friends, it's just a fork along the road," he sang. In the song, he advised to raise hell, make memories, love your life, take pictures along the way and-most importantly-write your own song. "Go start your own revolution and I'll see you at the reunion," he sang at the close of the song. Check it out here.
While performing the group's 1987 classic, "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", The Edge was walking along the extended catwalk staging across the floor of the Rogers Arena when he wandered over the side, dropping several feet to the ground. "I am doing fine," the guitarist tells the television show. "I can't quite believe it because when I looked down the following day to see what I fell on, it was not good. But ya, I'm feeling fine." The guitarist says he was simply caught up in the atmosphere and the song before the sudden slip. "It was a moment of reverie where I just completely lost track of where I was on the stage," he explains. "Out of the corner of my eye I could see the curve of the round and I thought I was already there. I stepped off on what I thought was the stage and I had basically cut the corner. It was one of those things you do only once." U2 members each reacted differently to the May 14 incident. "Sick in the pit of my stomach," says bassist Adam Clayton, "because I knew what was down there." "Start and end all in the same evening," adds drummer Larry Mullen Jr. "It would have been the shortest tour in history," The Edge chimed in before Bono joked, "I was thinking about days off, myself." "Thank you to @kanyewest for choosing me (& trusting me) to direct the music video for his new 15-second song 'Audi,'" Mande wrote on Twitter, including the 15-second clip, which flashes images to correlate with what West really isn't saying. Among the funny mishearings in the song: a picture of former NFL cornerback Dre Bly for West's saying "fly," "P.O." is changed to "B.O." and "been high" becomes an image of a beehive. And of course, the clip hinges on throwing a photo of an Audi car at you every time West exclaims "All Day," which happens often, even in a 15-second dose. Check it out here.
He's just released the name of his forthcoming project, and it's not casting any doubts on his place as the country's least subtle stoner rapper: Rolling Papers 2: The Weed Album. On the platinum edition of his album Just As I Am, released earlier this week, you'll find a remix of his 2014 hit "Bottoms Up" done by T.I.. Gilbert however didn't intend for the move to be controversial, or any sort of "hey, look at me!" intention. "I didn't do it to piss anybody off or stir the water or give [ammunition to] the people that are on a power trip about the 'country and rap is crap' stuff," the country artist told Billboard. For Bradley, T.I.'s reworking was an opportunity for him to work with one of his favorite artists, who also happens to be from his home state Georgia. Read more here.
Chrissy busy balancing a busy life with her famous husband John Legend, "I was just filming Top Chef in Palm Springs yesterday, I had driven out from Billboard Awards to Palm Springs, he came out literally just to sleep with me, he got in around 11, left at 3 in the morning or something, you have that balance, these the are hours we can be together but it is also nice to be in our two worlds, working our butts off and then coming together and be excited."
