Not only has Gaye's family recently pointed out similarities between Pharrell's 'Happy" and the late singer's 'Ain't That Peculiar," but they're also going after T.I., Universal Music Group, Interscope and Pharrell's Star Trak Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The family has reportedly filed two new motions for the judge to consider, which ask the judge to add Universal Music Group, Interscope and Star Trak to the list of infringers and overrule the jury's decision to exonerate T.I.. Believing that the distributors should be held as accountable as the songwriters, the Gayes are seeking more reparations. Read more here.
Well, as they say, records are made to be broken, and Lamar's record only lasted a single day. On Tuesday, Kendrick Lamar's follow-up to his beloved Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City broke its own record, racking up 9.8 million listens in its second day on the streaming service. Whether this is the peak number remains to be seen. Sometimes albums need a bit of word of mouth for people to even be aware that they are available to be streamed, and maybe that word on Lamar's record is still spreading. Read more here.
If you need video proof of this, look no further than a clip from TMZ of Drizzy in Dubai. As he walks through a crowd with his security, someone Drake doesn't know thinks it is appropriate to rub Drake's head. Needless to say, Drake does not find this reasonable. In fact, it kind of pisses Drake off, which in turn gets his security detail rather riled up. The rapper is likely still caught up in his feelings over this week's release of a concert film that he's not happy with at all. Watch the video and check out the look of disbelief and judgement that Drake gives the fan before his security team does exactly what they get paid for here.
In terms of tenacity, they're apparently worse than anything North Korea could throw at you. "All I know is don't ever get into a feud with Taylor Swift," he said. The recently released 'Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm' by Marc Mysterio vs. Crash Test Dummies (Teenage Mutants 2015 Remix) has landed on the Top 100 Deep House Beatport Chart. We reached out to Mysterio to learn more about the collaboration and he sent over the following details. Mysterio tell us, "We re-recorded and added the 'mmm' humming as part of a totally new song I wrote, composed and vocaled that was originally going to feature Sully Erna from Godsmack before the deal fell through. "However, I decided to first do a mix utilizing just the humming as so to bring the sound back to the forefront as its instantly recognizable and also brought on Teenage Mutants to be part of the remix, as they are one of the hottest names in Deep House which is the sound at the moment and now its cracked the Beatport Top 100 Chart!!!" Brad Roberts of Crash Test Dummies adds, "Marc and I shared a few common friends and when his deal with Godsmack fell through I stepped up to record the new song. "In studio, Marc asked me to add in humming to the track and then after, he sent me the remix utilizing just the humming and wife commented, 'Marc is really on to something there'" Check out the song here.
In his new video, directed by Elf Rivera, the rapper props up his Sorry 4 the Wait 2 mixtape, which dropped in January to hold over fans still waiting for the oft-delayed release of Tha Carter V. Clips of Wayne from within a cage pepper the video, with film clips mixed in that depict, among other things, a person's flesh being melted from their body after a fiery explosion and a quick shot of Scarface once Tony Montana is mentioned. What's the cage significance? Well, consider Cash Money's unwillingness to release Carter V and you're probably on the right track. Nicki Minaj and Drake are there too, but only in blink-and-you'll-miss-them cameos. And that's not an exaggeration. Check it out here.
"Future People" showcases many of the bands strengths, including Brittany Howard's skyscraper-high vocals and her band's blues-rock groove that features some of the filthiest bass outside of EDM. The YouTube video that accompanies the song riffs off of classic geometric screensavers. Look for the new album when it is released on April 21 on ATO. We have the tracklist, as well. The hype cycle will continue when Alabama Shakes take the stage at Coachella in advance of the new album's release. See the tracklist and watch the video here.
As most slumber party staples tend to, the game was highly sexual, with virtually every question asking whether the contestants had or hadn't done x while fooling around with y. But perhaps more interesting than the fact that everyone had dated someone and that someone's sibling (!?) was the flirting between Biebs and Madge that got pretty interesting by the game's end. Madonna jokingly referred to Bieber as her boyfriend and scooted next to him at one point. The highlight? How excited Madonna gets when asked if she had ever fooled around with someone else in the room. Hard to believe this is daytime TV! Watch it here.

These new albums, released Tuesday on iTunes, don't stray far from the formula Gucci has been using on his other releases this year: rough edged, often-melodic production from his usual stable of top notch heavy hitters, and a mix of guest stops from unknowns and major stars alike. All told, the album has 13 guest spots in total. These include everyone from Chief Keef and iLOVEMAKONNEN to Fredo Santana, Quavo, and Trinidad James. Read more here.
"OK, the time has come for me to cease singing Nothing Compares 2U," she wrote. "The first principle of the manner in which I'm trained as a singer (Bel Canto) is we never sing a song we don't emotionally identify with." O'Connor says it was nine months ago, when she just couldn't muster up an emotional response to the Prince-penned track. So why is she making this announcement? Simple. "I don't want audiences to be disappointed coming along to a show and then not hearing it," she wrote. Read more here.

Taye Cannon: "Try My Love" is a club banger and a man's declaration to the ladies! Every man can relate to this song because it's a feeling that we've all had at some point in our journey: "I am the only man for you, and you won't find better anywhere!" In fact, based on some conversations I have had with lady friends, this song exudes the exact kind of confidence that women often wish for. It's derivative of the early 70s funk of James Brown, oozing with swagger and sexual-love-power. TML is the kind of song you just wanna crank when you are getting ready to go out on the town with your friends. Crank it! Errol Siegel: The first video we made as a band was for this song. We shot it with Josh and Nick Holdenfrom MISHNOON, who we later worked with on the "Love Maker DeVille" video. We didn't have much of a budget, so we just invited a bunch of friends out to one of our favorite Austin hangouts (The Blackheart) and let 'er rip. It was really more of a party than a video shoot. Watch for appearances from Elise Avellan (best known for her roles in Grindhouse and Machete) and B-Boy Recon & The Fresh Collection Break Dancers. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you watch the video here and learn more about the album right here!
