While Hemsworth is a new addition to cast, Goldblum will return as David Levinson, the MIT grad-turned-cable-TV technician. Director Roland Emmerich, who also helmed the first film, revealed the casting with a photo of Hemsworth and Goldbloom. "Excited to officially announce @LiamHemsworth and #JeffGoldblum as the next two pieces of the #IndependenceDay sequel!" he wrote. The story takes place in an "alternate present-day reality, where humanity has spent the last two decades harvesting the alien technology featured in the first movie," reports Screenrant. According to the New York Daily News, 'Will Smith can not come back because he's too expensive, but he'd also be too much of a marquee name." Read more and see the announcement here.
"Blister in the Sun" and "Add It Up" are the most recognizable songs from the band's catalog, which they've just added to for the first time in 15 years with the new song, "Love Love Love Love Love." "Happy to have some new recordings for people that have loved our music," frontman Gordan Gano said of the new track (via Consequence of Sound), "and would be honored to have a few new ears hear us for the first time too." The song, which boasts a swinging, bossa nova vibe, is from a new EP that's expected to see the light of day later on this year. Listen here.
The single was released earlier this week and the video for the song will be premiering on Friday (March 6th) on BravoTV.com's The Daily Dish at 10:15 p.m. ET/PT. But let's say you can get past the security. Well, then you have the artist and their entourage to deal with. And often, they can be less forgiving than the security. Witness this TMZ footage of a recent Boosie Badazz (the artist formerly known as Lil Boosie) performance in St. Paul, Minnesota. You hardly see the fan coming before an entourage member gives the over-zealous audience member a whack to face. The situation is almost instantly diffused by the fist. Check out footage of the Boosie Badazz incident here.
The four-song release includes lead single "Turn It On," co-written by bandmates Mike Eli and James Young alongside Rodney Clawson and Matt Dragstrem. Additional songs include the nostalgic "Your Place Or Mine," where two former lovers can't quite move on from each other despite the best they try. Meanwhile, "Drink You Up" is a track that embodies some EDM beats that is sure to get fans dancing at Eli Young Band's live shows. Another highlight is "Plastic," which Eli explains to Radio.com as being a song that treads new territory as it celebrates the real girls in the world with lines like, "Girl, there ain't nothing plastic about you." "I was really happy with the outcome of that song and being able to say what it says in the way it did. I was really proud of a lot of those lyrics that were written." Stream the EP here.
In February Gucci released an eight-song EP called Views from Zone 6, and followed it up with another mixtape titled Brick Factory 3. That wasn't all the music his team has had lined up for this month: he's just now released a new one titled Mr. Clean, The Middle Man. Production comes from the same stable of Atlanta heavyweights who have been lacing his mixtapes for years--Metro Boomin and Drumma Boy both contribute tracks, while "Vampire" features an unexpected DJ Mustard drop, presumably a leftover from an earlier era. All 12 songs feature Gucci, with only two guest appearances: Dash and Wooh Da Kid, who both appear on "Everybody Dies." Read more and checkout the mixtape here.

"Double Tap" is an ode to all of their Instagram stalkers that don't show love in the form of the "likes." It's also a call to action for those people. He gives his stats (24 million sold, in case anyone was counting) and hurls insults abstractly, many of which include calling his adversaries women, be it calling them a ho, suggesting they're wearing women's clothing or straight up saying "hiding behind your security detail/acting like a female" and "got paid but your heart pump Kool-Aid/CoverGirl make-up should have signed you." Meanwhile, his second verse advises that we shouldn't mess with him because he's got kids and he'll do anything in the world to protect them. Hold up. On Tuesday, TMZ broke the news that Brown is the father of a 9-month-old girl. According to the website, the mother is a 31-year-old former model who goes by Nia (her last name wasn't identified). The pair have allegedly known each other for several years and even though they're not currently together, they've maintained a good relationship. The only problem? Brown's current girlfriend Karrueche Tran apparently wasn't aware of Brown's supposed child until the story surfaced. On Wednesday she's sort of confirmed the story in her very public breakup with Brown. Taking to Twitter, Tran wrote, "Listen. One can only take so much. The best of luck to Chris and his family. No baby drama for me." Read more including what Brown tweeted following Tran's tweet here.
