Leah Washington had her leg amputated after the Smiler ride at Britain's Alton Towers theme park slammed into an empty car earlier this month. The injury made it impossible for her to attend the boy band's concert in Wales at Cardiff Stadium. A friend of Washington's felt so bad, she decided to get the hashtag #Get1DToLeah trending on Twitter to call for the four-piece to reach out to her friend. And what do you know, it worked. According to the BBC, the guys of One Direction--Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson--filmed a video message for Washington. "Unfortunately because of their schedule they can't visit her in hospital, but they have offered Leah tickets to a forthcoming concert of her choice when she has recovered, and will be delighted to meet her backstage then," the band's rep said. But, Miley, being Miley, has no shame in this as she posted her performance to Instagram with the caption: She wrote, "Dolly!!!! 9 2 5!!!! Zit cream!!!! Pups! Makin #dirtyhippie art!!!!!!!! Life is goooood let's be happy and make others happppppyyyyyyyyyyy." Dressed in a shirt donned with happy faces and her platinum hair up, Cyrus is seen in the kitchen singing along to Parton as her dogs looks on. Check it out here.
"My Uncle Jim told my dad that Eminem was the next Bob Dylan--it's pretty similar, it's all just storytelling--so my dad bought me The Marshall Mathers LP when I was nine years old, not knowing what was on it. I learned every word of it, back to front, by the time I was ten. He raps very fast and melodically and percussively, and it helped me get rid of the stutter." But, even though Sheeran no longer stutters he let his younger fans know, stuttering is not something they should worry about, laying out all of his perceived flaws as a kid. "I was a very, very weird child. I had a port-wine stain birthmark on my face that I got lasered off when I was very young; one day, they forgot to put the anesthetic on, and ever since then, I had a stutter," he explained (via Billboard). "I also had very big, blue NHS glasses--NHS is the National Health Service, one day I hope you'll have the same! And I lacked an eardrum on one side of my ear, so stuttering was actually the least of my problems!" Read more here.
While there, the pair didn't duet (yet) but Weird Al did lay down some music of his own. Taking his band into White's vintage telephone booth turned recording studio, which is cramped enough for one person, Weird Al and his backers managed to craft an a cappella medley in the "Voice-O-Graph" booth. In a video of their performance posted by Third Man Records, you can get a sense of how tiny the booth is by the time it takes for the band to figure out how to get inside. Once they figured it out, Weird Al and co. lay down the a cappella magic. Check it out here.
Dubbed Teens in the Park, the festival will be held at Chicago's lakeside open field, Northerly Island, on June 24. On the roster you'll find Donnie Trumpet, Chicago's DLow, and a handful of other artists that have yet to be announced. Aside from performances, there will also be activities set up by Kanye West's non-profit Donda House and The Art Institute. Chance's festival will be yet another reason to visit Chicago this summer, as the city also hosts Pitchfork Music Festival July 17-19 and Lollapalooza July 31-August 2. Read more here.
According to Rolling Stone, the jaunt that's being coined the Suits and Boots Tour will also feature appearances by special guest Danielle Bradbury, winner of season 4 of The Voice. The dynamic, comedic duo announced the tour with a video which finds the artists competing for the right to earn headlining status (watch it above). The video was released after Eldredge and Rhett shot cheeky tweets at each other about the tour. Read more here.
Musgraves is first seen in black and white churning butter to make her biscuits before singing, "If you ain't got nothing nice to say, don't say nothing at all," as a sparkly red curtain rises to reveal Musgraves' very own variety show. This nod to classics like Laugh In and The Lawrence Welk Show is complete with farmers, barn animals, her band dressed in light-up suits, an odd couple and some choreographed dancers. The fun continues with a few barnyard games and a shot of a cross-dressing Musgraves hanging out with the chickens and goats as she hangs her dirty laundry out to dry. Read more here.
But, if you were to only watch the trailer for the movie Straight Outta Compton, the N.W.A. biopic, it would appear that the group only had three members of note: Dr. Dre, Eazy-E and Ice Cube. This portrayal is not sitting well with MC Ren, who has gone on a Twitter rant about the portrayal of the trailer, which doesn't feature some members of N.W.A. at all. (via Pitchfork) "The work I put into them records. It's disrespectful to me, my family and most of all my FANS- MC REN (@mcrencpt) June 10, 2015" Read more here.
Fetty Wap's path to Genghis Khan-style domination of summer just got a little smoother, with a rendition of his smash hit "Trap Queen" live on Jimmy Kimmel. Wap performed in front of the band Phony Ppl--they convert the song's scintillating synth cascades into funky piano stabs backed by live drums. This comes just a week after two major summer victories for Wap--appearing in a major slot at Summer Jam, and receiving a cover from the god Ed Sheeran. Don't just watch from the comfort of your own couch--Fetty will be touring all summer long, performing on the 'One Hell Of A Nite" tour with Chris Brown, Kid Ink, Teyana Taylor, and more. Watch the Kimmel performance here.
Dressed in a skinny green suit, Bridges stands in front of his microphone as his band surrounds him in a circle. Immediately you get the feeling you're witnessing something special, as if we're in the studio with Bridges himself. Bridges' debut album Coming Home will be released on June 23. The album includes his single "Better Man," as well as previous released songs "Lisa Sawyer" and River." Watch the new video here.
To make the night even more memorable, several key cast-members will appear onstage with the film's producer and co-writer Bob Gale including Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Donald Fullilove, and Claudia Wells. Michael J. Fox will sadly not be on hand, according to EW. Three DeLorean replicas outfitted to look like the original 1.21-gigawatt stainless steel sports car will be on display at the Hollywood Bowl screening, as well as a replica of Marty McFly's Toyota 44. "In the premiere, it's discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it's an incredible strain on the marriage," Simpsons' executive producer Al Jean told Variety of the upcoming season. According to Jean, "Homer and Marge legally separate, and Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who's voiced by Lena Dunham." As for how Fuller House came to be, apparently John Stamos has been championing it for over a decade, but it wasn't until Candace Cameron Bure took the project on with a fury that the ball really got rolling. "John was for 10 or 15 years going to Warner Bros. and trying to keep it alive. [He was] trying to get a showrunner and see if Jeff Franklin, who is writing this newer incarnation for Netflix, would rejoin," Saget said. "John worked the hardest at it and Candace in the last few years said, 'I want to get this done.' Then they carved out a premise, which is that she is the parent in the house with two people helping her raise her kids, her sister character-wise, Stephanie and the neighbor girl Eddie Haskell. No, Kimmy Gibbler. It's a reverse, a flip on what we did with the show. It's lovely, what they're going to do." Henner asked how many episodes we should expect to see Saget on, but even he isn't sure. "I know that I'll be walking through the door on the first one," Saget said. "A lot of stuff is up in the air. It's so funny what happened with the media, between Twitter and Instagram, people say things that aren't even accurate. We don't really know all the facts yetMy joke is, I always believe everything I read. I write it down and then I read it. My shopping list I believe." Henner said she'd recently spoken to Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner), who recalled the show fondly. Saget agreed, saying the affection between them all was very real and that the show oddly predicted his own life. Read more here.
