They report that they obtained the lawsuit filed by the rap star, who they say is suing the label for $51 million and seeking to void his obligations to the record label because he claims that they have violated his contract with them by withholding tens of millions of dollars that they owe him for his album "Tha Carter V." The album release has been repeatedly delayed with no solid release plans revealed publicly. The site also reports that Wayne is asking that the court deem that he is the joint copyright owner of recordings released by the Young Money label which has put out music by Drake and Nicki Minaj among others. TMZ's report goes on to state that unnamed "sources connected to Wayne" told them that Wayne was supposed to receive a $8 million advance for "Tha Carter V" and an additional $2 million from the label once he completed the album and that he would allow them to still release the album if they paid him the money they reportedly owe him. There has been no official or on the record confirmation of this claim.

It seems that Shmurda will still face the charge in court. There is also some clarification as to what the charge stemmed from, and it is not related to allegations of Shmurda firing a gun into a crowd of people outside a barbershop in Brooklyn. The actual charge is from a search of Shmurda's home near the time of the barbershop incident, when a gun was found on the premises. Read more here.
According to Country Standard Time, Brooks addressed the idea of a possible duet album with his wife during a press conference at TD Garden in Boston last week. "We are trying to get it out this year," he said. "We'll test the waters." While Brooks admitted that no songs have been recorded, he promised a fresh take on a duets album. "It'll be a duets album, but it will not be like what you've seen before. She's got a lot of strong ideas." Read more here.
The first, featuring Bieber finger-picking his acoustic guitar over subtle backing vocals, all while the heartthrob sings "How do our lives become lighter? How do our eyes become brighter? Gotta believe in something higher." In the second song bit, Bieber is more heart-yearning than soul-searching, asking "how did we throw it all away?" while his acoustic guitar takes more of an R&B strut, as if the song is just waiting for the right beat to lift it to the top of the pop charts. Check out both clips here.
Stone, one of the biggest artists of the late 1960s and early '70s, led iconic band Sly and the Family Stone, whose hits included "Dance to the Music," "Stand!," "I Want to Take You Higher," "Everyday People," "You Can Make It If You Try," "Hot Fun in the Summertime" and "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)," among others. Variety reported that Los Angeles Superior Court announced its verdict on Tuesday, after two days of deliberations, but that the litigation has been going on for five years. Stone's suit, originally filed in 2010, claimed that he signed an employment/shareholder deal in the late 1980s with Even Street Productions, and that manager Gerald Goldstein and attorney Glenn Stone used the arrangement to divert millions in royalties, leaving him unable to get the money he said was due him. The jury awarded $2.5 million in damages against Even St. Productions, $2.45 million against Goldstein and $50,000 against Stone. Read more here.
"It's good to have princesses [of pop]. It means there's lots of pretty dresses around," she said. "I like Taylor Swift. I think she writes some really catchy pop songs. I can't get them out of my head." After word got out of Madonna's comments, Swift took to her Tumblr page, which fortunately, was not hacked yesterday (Jan. 27), to react to Madge's high compliment in the most Taylor Swift way possible: "Thanks, now I'm dead." She tweeted, "Me and @itstonybennett are so excited to announce we will be performing at #TheGrammys this year! Thank you to @TheGRAMMYs and our fans!" She even added a piano and saxophone emoji to make her point. Gaga and Bennett are up for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the awards. Read more here.
Directed by RUFFMERCY, the mind behind Disclosure's cartoon-inspired "F For You" video along with Lily Allen's "Sheezus," Danny Brown's "ODB" and Young Thug's "Old English," the video is a continuation of the cartoonish album artwork. It's got a fun house feel with Killer Mike andEl-P coming in and out of focus as they rap in a graffiti-emblazoned alley. Run the Jewels are still riding high off Run the Jewels 2, between dropping new videos, appearing on late night shows and speaking out about recent cases of police brutality through written word, shows, TV appearances. Among the phrases that Swift secured are 'Party Like it's 1989," 'Could Show You Incredible Things," 'Cause We Never Go Out of Style," and 'Nice to Meet You. Where You Been?" But, maybe most controversial out of the newly patented terms is "This Sick Beat." The phrase, used in "Shake It Off," seems to have a greater history than that of the Taylor Swift song, and might take some getting used to for people to realize it is not free to use. How could that have possibly happened? Well, aside from the fact that Kenny hails from Seattle where the coffee chain started, his uncle had given seed money to Starbucks chairman/CEO Howard Schulz and introduced the two. "I met Howard, [and] I don't know anything about coffee but Howard--charismatic, smart--he just had this energy and I go, 'I don't know what he's really talking about when it comes to coffee, but this is a winner,'" he told Bloomberg. Though Kenny didn't invest in the company, he at least claims to have the bragging right to shaping their menu. That includes suggesting that Starbucks create their own sweet blended drink similar to a popular one Coffee Bean had at the time. "At the beginning, Starbucks didn't have anything but coffee," he recalled. "And there was another company, Coffee Bean, that had something called 'blended' that was a sweet drink and people were lined up around the block. And I would always call Howard and say, Howard, there's this thing that they do there that's like a milkshake or whatever. And so I think that I--part of the reason that they did Frappuccino was people like me giving them that kind of feedback. So I would like to think that I was partially responsible for that." Bentley, Thomas Rhett and the Cadillac Three enjoyed a beer infused plane ride Tuesday night (Jan. 27) before heading to Bentley's bar and restaurant Whiskey Row. While driving around the city, Bentley also posted a video as he heard his new single "Say You Do" on the radio. Sounds like a good party leading up to the big game. Fans can still purchase tickets to The Night Before on Ticketmaster. Bentley will also be hosting a Super Bowl party on Jan. 30 at his bar and leading up to Sunday's game, Big & Rich will perform on Feb. 1. Watch the video here.
Now, under his Trickfinger alias, he's ditching the guitar entirely on a new self-titled project--Frusciante will release an acid house album. According to Resident Advisor, a press release describes Frusciante's inspiration behind the project: 'I started being serious about following my dream to make electronic music, and to be my own engineer, five years ago. For the 10 years prior to that, I had been playing guitar along with a wide range of different types of programmed synthesizer and sample-based music, emulating what I heard as best as I could' Read more here.
Now, though, they've released two new songs: "Speed Racer" and "Warrior." The former is a short, fast-paced track with trance-y synths. Metro Thuggin' work so well as a duo because Boomin' understands Thug's need for space--his voice fills in the empty parts of the song with warbling trills and tossed off bits of lyrical genius, like the following: "my pockets got lumps and bumps, like I bought it from the swamp. "Warrior," meanwhile, is a six-minute long tour de force. The minor-key beat doesn't need to do much besides give Thug plenty of room to let his mind run free. Around the four minute mark Boomin's latent experimental tendencies emerge, and the track morphs into an odd, post-punk-ish stomp that must be heard to be believed. Thug and Metro Boomin are about to go on tour with Travi$ Scott, so chances are they'll finally have time to sit down and record that mixtape. Listen to the tracks here.
With a caveat. First Sean broke down what happened with the pair's very public break up, that included accusations of theft on Twitter. Complex reports Sean revealed that "the relationship dissolved because the two began arguing more than they did anything else." They go on to say he refused to comment about rumors that she was controlling and jealous. He did, however, go on record about the rumor that he stole a Rolex from her after the break. "First of all, why would I have to steal a Rolex?" Sean said. "Second of all, every Rolex that I have, I have receipts for, papers for, certificates of authenticity for. I would never steal a Rolex from anybody. You see that tweet got deleted in like 20 seconds." Sean then delves into Rivera's role as muse for the track "IDFWU."The majority of the song, Sean explained, was written while the two were still in a relationship. He told Complex the whole track is not about her but that he was thinking of their relationship when he wrote the lyrics "and everyday I wake up celebrating s, why? 'Cause I just dodged a bullet from a crazy b-." Read more here.

"I love this album. The songs on Southern Gravity feel like home to me, and I am proud and excited to share them, finally," Bush said in a press release. "They are your stories as much as they are mine, and I hope you hear yourself in here, no matter if you are standing up, falling down, or dancing in between the pieces of your life." The lead single off the release is "Trailer Hitch," which was initially released last year. "We probably have one too many things in our life," he told Radio.com about the song. "All of us. We can probably give at least one of them back or away. You can't take it with you when you go. It is a question and it isn't an answer of a song. It's just a question, why do we all want to die rich? Isn't there something we can do with that?" Read more here.
So how much is too little, anyway? The check was made out for $1,000 to Booker T. Washington High School. As such, considering that Migos make a reported $70,000 per show and are clearly wearing expensive chains in the photo op, many are accusing them of skimping the high school while still trying to garner some good press. Bossip has rounded up comments from all over, one noting that the high school could buy little more than "2 football uniforms, 1 cheerleader bullhorn, 3 band uniforms, 1 mop for the janitor and printing paper.".Read more here.
"I Need Your Love" is a song produced by Costi' this is a producer I've worked with on a song with Bob Sinclar called "I Wanna" that was a big hit for us in Europe. Costi came to me with as skeleton idea on a new song called "I Need Your love" that would feature Mohombi and Faydee ... The minute I heard the idea I immediately was drawn to its feel good vibe of the track . I took my phone out and started to lay some melodies while I was on the road, by the time I got to the studio to cut the vocals I was very excited with the song and the vibe I had come up with. I sent the song to Costi and when he send me the finished version I immediately thought wow we got a smash here. "I Need Your Love" is my new single out on iTunes now. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself as you check out the video right here!
