The Book of Eli Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features an original score by composer/musician/producer Atticus Ross, marking his third collaboration with the Hughes Brothers and his first feature film score. Ross' music is a unique hybrid score of electronic and organic elements; writing with his wife (Claudia Sarne) and brother (Leopold Ross), the basic tracks were recorded at his studio in Los Angeles before departing to London where it was finished in Abbey Road Studios with a full 80 piece orchestra. Ross' other film credits include co-writing and producing "Go All the Way (Into the Twilight)," the Perry Ferrell single for the hit film Twilight, the score for the Allen Hughes' vignette for the film New York, I Love You, as well as the music to the Hughes Brothers TV show 'Touching Evil." Ross has also incorporated his musical style into collaborations and productions of such major artists as NIN (the albums With Teeth, Year Zero, The Slip, and the Grammy-nominated Ghosts), Jane's Addiction, and Korn. - more on this story
This series is about the insider life of the wives, girlfriends and a few ex-wives of some of the biggest ballers in the game. These ladies live the life. They drive the best cars, live in the biggest mansions, wear designer clothes and jewelry and only travel first class. But living the high life is not all glamour. In order to protect it, they have to deal with the jealousies and dramas of living in -- and staying in -- the inner circle. They must also keep the groupies at bay while their husbands and boyfriends are traveling on the road for over six months of the year playing ball all-the-while wondering if their spouses are being faithful to them.
The show will be the first since Daryl Hall and John Oates received their first Grammy nomination in 25 years with a nod in the Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals for "Sara Smile," from their Live at the Troubadour album on Shout! Factory.
On their debut, Mumford & Sons have created a gutsy, banjo-driven, old-time sound that marries the magic of Crosby, Stills & Nash with the might of Kings of Leon and the harmonies of Fleet Foxes. Sigh No More was recorded at Eastcote Studios, where Arctic Monkeys, Brian Eno, Tindersticks and Laura Marling have honed their sound. The band teamed with producer Markus Dravs who has worked with such superstar acts as Arcade Fire, Bjork and Peter Gabriel. Sigh No More was recently released in the UK to critical accolades. The album debuted in the UK iTunes Top 10 recently and is being lauded by tastemaker publications such as NME ("A band who know they're onto something not just good, but spectacular") and Q Magazine ("A record that swings from arresting fragility to hearty dynamics.") The first single, "Little Lion Man," is already being boasted as "The Hottest Record In The World" by Radio 1's Zane Lowe, and the band has been longlisted for the BBC Sounds Of 2008 Poll, which features the most promising new music talent.
