Elucidation of Popular Culture

In accordance with federal legislation prohibiting discrimination, after a lengthy & expensive legal battle to prevent me from contributing a monthly column presenting views contrary to all antiMusic represents, I am pleased to announce the launch of your new favorite feature on antiMusic: a lone voice of sanity in the insanity that's antiMusic, the place where you can come for reliable advice on what to think, the Veridical Polemic a.k.a. "I'm Always Right" column with Dolly Doppelganger! Read my words and obey them if you want to be right all the time, just like me!

As always the views expressed by the writer do not neccessarily reflect the views of antiMUSIC or the iconoclast entertainment group

Making Money the New Fashioned Way

Want to be rich & famous, fawned over & sought out by the media, who will follow you around, hang on your every word & treat you like a celeb? Accuse someone famous of raping, molesting, or assaulting you! Say it happened many years ago, so that even people who know you now can honestly testify that they just don't remember something like that from so long ago. Doesn't matter a whit if it's true or not, no one cares. Settling out of court is the cheap way out for stars falsely accused, a few hundred thousand, 'here ya go, now shut up ya liar' in conciliatory lump sum payments. Sure beats millions on lawyers, court costs & countersuits for slander.

What a bizarre country this is, where Amber Alerts go unannounced unless someone sees the actual kidnapping, yet anyone can accuse anyone of anything & get a worldwide audience rather than legal or civil repercussions. People or corporations with money are little more than lawsuit magnets, and amazingly, they have no problem finding a the press ready to pay for the pleasure of reporting their made up slanderous accusations. The internet is thick with stories of people who had to roll over & play dead so their insurance co. could pay off the nut job accusers rather than wasting time & money fighting a lawsuit

Bill Cosby & Snoopy Dogg are only 2 such examples. The gun industry too finds itself becoming the 'new tobacco' as lawsuits with no merit are filed against it by greedy people using their grief as an excuse to cash in. If my car is stolen by a drunk who then crashes it into a busload of kids & kills everyone, in today's anti 2nd amendment courtroom, I would be the one found guilty if the car in question was a Luger or a Sig. I'm not a robbery victim, I'm responsible for the death of every kid on that bus, makes perfect sense! "Well good! Serves you right for owning a car!" goes the logic.

Well then I guess Bill & Snoopy really are guilty, since they have plenty of money to pay someone off & such a high profile job. If you need me, I'll be busy checking the Forbes list for who is gonna make me rich & famous! Be on your toes Bill Gates & Prince Charles!
