It's time for music fans to plan a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee to enjoy a three day blow-out that'll feature a mountainous lineup of legendary rock and metal performers. Formerly-known as Monsters on the Mountain, the Mountain USA Music Festival will be headlined by Great White, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Tesla. Each of the festival's three days will also feature an impressive lineup of support acts. The fun begins with a special "Kickoff" event on Friday, Aug. 23rd where the headline act will be Great White. Also on the bill that evening will be Wig Wam, the McDonald's/Black Sabbath parody band Mac Sabbath, Tora Tora, Stoney Curtis and Soto/Bieler, the duo of Jeff Scott Soto, famed for his work with Journey with Jason Bieler of Saigon Kick.
The lineup on Saturday Aug. 24th will feature classic English rockers Foghat, Southern rock hit makers 38 Special, Slaughter, Quiet Riot, Cold Sweat, Dangerous Toys, Soto/Bieler, Babylon AD, No Love Lost and Joel Hoekstra and Brandon Gibbs, both of whom have been members of Whitesnake and Trans Siberian Orchestra. It all leads up to the headlining spot that'll feature Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. There'll also be a special VIP after party on Saturday with Nerd Halen. The final day of Mountain USA Music Festival on Sunday, Aug. 25th will be headlined by Tesla with warm up acts set to include Night Ranger, Jackyl, Aldo Nova, Lynch Mob, Vixen, The Cruel Intentions, Bad Marriage and Hoekstra and Gibbs. One additional act will be announced closer to the event date.
Besides all the shows in the Gatlinburg Convention Center, additional fun during the festival will take place on the Mountain Outdoor Patio where there'll be special surprise performances and a show from metal DJ Will; Eddie Trunk will be there too broadcasting his Eddie Trunk Live show for Sirius XM radio.
