Big Shows Coming To Phoenix Include Journey And Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Megadeth

There's an amazing slate of exciting concerts coming up in Phoenix, including legendary rock bands and one very funny comedian. Our list starts with a gigantic triple bill!

Def Leppard, Journey and the Steve Miller Band - August 23, 2024 - Chase Field, Phoenix

It's only fitting that this classic rock blowout takes place at Chase Field, home of Major League Baseball's Arizona Diamondbacks, because the show is going to be filled with "hits!" Fans will experience "Hysteria" when Def Leppard rocks out with "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Animal," "Foolin'," "Bringin' on the Heartbreak," "Rock of Ages," "Photograph" and many others while Journey will have the crowd singing along to smash hits like "Lights," "Faithfully," "Wheel in the Sky," "Anyway You Want It," "Who's Crying Now," "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'" and of course "Don't Stop Believin'." And that's not all! The Steve Miller Band will bring the hits with "The Joker," "Jet Airliner," "Jungle Love," "Rock'n Me," "Take the Money and Run," "Swingtown" and yes, "Fly Like an Eagle."

Megadeth - Aug. 6, 2024 - Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre, Phoenix

Guitarist and singer Dave Mustaine brings his vaunted heavy metal band to the desert during Megadeth's "Destroy All Enemies" tour, a follow-up to last year's successful run of arena and festival appearances. The guys will be performing favorites from throughout their career including cuts from Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction and their latest studio album The Sick, The Dying...and the Dead! Megadeth has been at the top of the thrash metal heap for over 40-years now and the GRAMMY Award-winning band shows no sign of slowing down. Mudvayne and All That Remains are also on the bill.

Kings of Leon - Aug. 20, 2024 - Arizona Financial Theatre, Phoenix

It seems like not so long ago that the Followill brothers, Caleb, Nathan and Jared along with their cousin Matthew Followill popped onto the scene as Kings of Leon but in reality it's been more than 20-years since the guys put out their first album. In that time they've sold 20 million albums and 40 million singles! That tally is set to burgeon as the band has just released their ninth album Can We Please Have Fun. Yes we can, Kings of Leon! The album is a bit of a departure for the guys as they cut loose and try a few new things. This show is headed for a sellout so fans should act quickly if they want to get in on the fun.

The Smashing Pumpkins - Sept. 18, 2024 - Chase Field, Phoenix

Imagine how Kiki Wong must've felt when she was chosen to be the new guitarist for the touring version of The Smashing Pumpkins, considering that head Pumpkin Billy Corgan got 10,000 applications for the job! Corgan and Wong will be joined for this show by Jimmy Chamberlin on drums, James Iha on guitar, Katie Cole on keys and Jack Bates on bass. Expect to hear favorites from throughout the band's career (they're releasing (Rotten Apples) The Smashing Pumpkins Greatest Hits on vinyl for the first time on Aug. 9) as well as cuts from their 2023 album ATUM. Corgan and company are said to be working on new material now too so this would be an ideal time to hear the band's evolution as it happens. Oh yeah, Green Day is on the bill too!

Eric Idle - Sept. 22, 2024 - Orpheum Theatre, Phoenix

And now for something completely different! Famed comedian Eric Idle, known for his work with Monty Python's Flying Circus, brings his one-man show, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, Live!" to the beautiful and historic Orpheum Theatre. According to Idle, the show will feature never-before seen sketches, original songs, jokes, the wisdom that comes with being a living legend and exactly one fart joke. About his storied career, Idle amusingly adds, "I can't seem to find the exit. My role in life seems to be cheering people up." This evening to laugh and feel good will surely be one to remember and cherish.

Judas Priest - Oct. 18, 2024 - Arizona Financial Theater, Phoenix

These kings of heavy metal have been going at it for 50-years now and are still at the top of their game; just last year the band released the well-received new album Invincible Shield. Expect to hear a couple of cuts from that record along with hits and deep cuts from British Steel, Screaming for Vengeance and Defenders of the Faith. Singer Rob Halford can still shriek and howl like he always has while the band erupts with melodic metal, and he can still ride a Harley on stage too. If you think any different, well, "You've Got Another Thing Comin'"! Swedish power metal outfit Sabaton opens the show.
