Jethro Tull - Songs from the Wood: The Country Set

.
Remix master Steven Wilson continues his march through the Jethro Tull catalog with this 40th anniversary collection celebrating the album that members of Tull consider to be one of their very best. As with Wilson's previous Tull revamps, this package starts out with a remix version of the original release, appended with eight additional "associated recordings" that include goodies like an unedited master of the title song, an early version of non-LP track "One Brown Mouse" with a new mix, and two previously-unreleased cuts, the bucolic "Old Aces Die Hard" and "Working John, Working Joe," a rocker that would not have been out of place on Stand Up. Two discs of this five-disc set hold a live show from 1977 featuring performances of a few cuts from Songs along with lots of favorites like "Aqualung," "Locomotive Breath," "Thick as a Brick," "Living in the Past," "Minstrel in the Gallery" and "Skating Away on the Thin Ice of the New Day." The set is rounded out with an audio DVD of the album and a lengthy video/audio DVD featuring previously-unseen live material. Delivered in a "book style" package, Songs from the Wood: The Country Set also includes a 96-page bound-in booklet with lyrics, rare photos, song-by-song commentary and more.
