The most of this music is funky stuff, sans vocals. The wonderfully named "Jabbrwawky," however, is like poetry in strutting motion. It's both smart and musical. The unit reveals its more laid back, thoughtful side with "Fawcett," which tamps down the beat significantly for something that's a little more on the ambient side. At times, this outfit does for electronic music what Weather Report once did to elevate jazz fusion. This is not boring, repetitive music, the way too much electronic music devolves into in short order. Instead, it's thoughtful, creative and well worth the investment of time.
