McDowell Mountain Music Festival
March 11-13, Phoenix, Arizona
It's the lucky thirteenth edition of this festival, returning this year to Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix. And lucky festival-goers will be able to enjoy a diverse line-up of talent over the course of the three-day event. Opening day presents shows by Animal Collective, Beck, Big Wild and MS MR while Sat. March 12 features music from Bloc Party, Goldfish, GRiZ, Kid Cudi, the Main Squeeze, M!NT, Porter Robinson and St. Lucia. The final day of the festival will see the Avett Brothers, Bird Dog, Firekid, Gary Clark Jr., Kaleo and the Oh Hellos taking the stage. Lots of Arizona bands will appear too, including Captain Squeegee, Luna Aura, Fairy Bones and Harper & the Moths. After hours parties will also be part of the fun. For more information go here.
Desert Generator Festival
April 9, Pioneertown, California
The first annual Desert Generator Festival will celebrate "van culture" with a heavy dose of rock 'n' roll thrown in. The day will start with the Rolling Heavy Van Show where festival-goers can check out 1960s and '70s-era custom vans, some of which will be vying for trophies. Vintage clothing, vinyl records and handmade goods will be on sale and a DJ will spin classic rock and classic metal tunes. Around dusk, at Pioneertown venue Pappy and Harriet's, the live music starts with sets from Red Fang, Brant Bjork and the Low Desert Punk Band, Acid King, Golden Void and Ecstatic Vision. Moonstone Music Festival
April 30 - May 1, Orlando, Florida
Move over Mickey! The action moves to the Central Florida Fairgrounds where multiple stages will host an incredible line-up over the course of the two-day event featuring big acts like KISS, Def Leppard, Buckcherry, Evanescence, Kansas, the Flaming Lips, Queensryche, AWOLNATION, Best Coast and many others. The festival will also feature performances from comedians Jim Florentine, Judah Friedlander, Jim Norton and others, while the music will keep rolling courtesy of Stone Foxes, Scott Stapp, Steel Panther, Wolf Alice, Sebastian Bach, Live, Girlpool, Raveneye, White Buffalo, Civil Twilight and a couple dozen others.
