Winchester Revival - Burden's Landing
Closer "Ice Water" couldn't me more different from "Diligence," with its herky-jerky groove that sounded like a progressive workout that would never go off well at a disco. "Last Night In Tokyo" also has a rhythm that may throw you off balance, yet its lightened by a pretty, jangling electric guitar part.
It's difficult to precisely peg Winchester Revival stylistically, which makes Burden's Landing such a constantly surprising joy. Just when you think you have this band in a preconceived box, they climb out in a completely different form.
