Lovesick Saints - Dia De Los Muertos
Dia De Los Muertos means 'Day of the Dead,' and there's quite a bit a death running through the six tracks on this EP. One song, for instance, reminds us all that - although we may feel very much alive - we nevertheless have "One Foot in the Grave." No matter how alive you may believe you are death can still be extremely close.
This band has also been compared to the Ramones, which is never a bad thing. Much like that great, pioneering band, Lovesick Saints never show off too much musically. The Ramones didn't play guitar solos, and when Lovesick Saints do add in a solo, it's a simple, pure one and not overstuffed with fret board trickery.
This is one band that deserves a shot on the Warped Tour. Let's hope they find a large audience that appreciates fantastic, old school punk rock.
