311
311 and Evolver
Volcano
The big deal here is that these two releases from Omaha-bred rap metal alt rockers 311 have never before until now been released on vinyl. And the label has gone all out to give fans a very nice package; each title is presented on two 180-gram audiophile LPs and with a 12" X 12" mini poster insert.
Breakthrough release 311, commonly referred to as "the blue album," starts off with the #1 hit "Down," includes the almost-a-chart-topper (it peaked at #2) rapid-fire vocal sing-along "All Mixed Up," the anti-violence "Guns (are for pussies)" and the percussion-heavy lesser hit "Don't Stay Home."
Evolver is sort of the overlooked title in 311's catalog; it was not a big hit despite holding two singles that did well in "Creatures (For a While)" and the slow and smoky "Beyond the Gray Sky." Both titles are individually numbered.
