Global Citizen Festival, New York City, September 28: Here's the socially-conscious music event of the year, taking place on the Great Lawn in Central Park and featuring Stevie Wonder, Kings of Leon, Alicia Keys and John Mayer. Timed to coincide with the meeting of world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly in New York, the festival celebrates the achievements that have halved global extreme poverty since 1990 and calls for more action to end extreme poverty by 2030.
