And great news. If you like that tune, you're in luck. That song is a great tone-setter for the album. Also good news, if you listen to music and you wonder, "Where did the guitar solos go?" Well, the Supersuckers gotcher guitar solos right here. Pick a song, any song. Chances are, it has a sweet guitar solo.
The Supersuckers revisit an issue mentioned on the previous album: getting paid. When you hear this band and see it perform, you have to wonder why these guys aren't getting paid like a lot of the "s*** bands" mentioned in "Rock and Roll Records."
Another thing that is not terribly surprising on this album is the display of Eddie's fine sense of hubris on "I'm a F***ing Genius." Frankly, I think he may be on to something. At a time when the music business abounds with watered-down overproduced dreck, he and the other guys in the band are committed to playing rock and roll like bands used to.
But what about the country tunes, you ask. Fret not, pally. The band delivers some twang (as it is wont to do) with the song "Breaking Honey's Heart." This is in the tradition of Supersuckers songs like "One Cigarette."
If you are a fan of the band, I doubt you will be disappointed in this effort. It is pure Supersuckers. If you don't know the band, but you are looking for a band that really rocks, well look no further. Supersuckers is a band that delivers nothing but rock. So get this album, crank the volume and do some good old-fashioned rockin' out.
