The other side of the coin is that his voice is just not that interesting over the long haul and that's pretty much why everything he's recorded since the Cream days has drifted into obscurity.
Eight of the 13 songs here are from the Bruce & Trower 2008 collaboration Seven Moons and most of those are weighted with forgettable vocal work. The instrumental breaks however feature Trower at his most fluid and long-time fans will recognize "Distant Places of the Heart" in particular as being on a par with anything from Bridge of Sighs.
Of course any live outing featuring Bruce has to offer a Cream number or two and "Sunshine of Your Love" is performed early in the set and appended with a nice long jam on the outro.
The show bogs down towards the middle but it finishes with four strong numbers in the urgent "The Last Door" followed by an ominous take on "Come to Me" and then two Cream chestnuts; "White Room" and "Politicians."
Seven Moons Live isn't a must-have album by any means but Cream hangers-on and fans of Trower will find enough good stuff here to make it a keeper.
