Sade co-wrote and co-produced the song with Ben Travers and longtime collaborator Andrew Hale, and A Wrinkle In Time filmmaker Ava DuVernay was so inspired by the passionate ballad she altered her regular work method.
'My creative partnership with Sade on 'Flower Of The Universe' was so connected that I reverse engineered the usual process and used her lyrics as actual dialogue within the film," she said in a press release.
"Flower Of The Universe" is Sade's first new recording since 2010's Soldier Of Love, and the first song she has contributed to a soundtrack since "Killer Blow," which appeared in 1986's Absolute Beginners. Read more and watch the video

Doing the proposing was Shane Bitney Crone, the subject of the heart-wrenching 2013 documentary, Bridegroom, where Crone was barred from the funeral of his longtime boyfriend by the family.
Crone and Lovato are friends, and the pop star helped him stage the elaborate proposal to his current partner, American Idol finalist Rayvon Owen.
Lovato kicked off the moment by having one of her dancers pluck Owen from the crowd. That's when Crone emerged from a trapdoor on the stage to surprise his man.
The emotional moment energized the crowd, as the newly engaged couple embraced and kissed at center stage. Lovato followed the proposal by serenading the couple with the song "Yes" from her most recent album, Confident. Read more

Now, the producer has released a touching new video tribute to his 15-month-old son, who was the inspiration for his upcoming album Father Of Asahd. "I have an important message for you," he said. "It's a message about the master key of master keys. I'm talking about love. Love turns bad to good, dark to light, losing to winning. Love can change everything. It's changed me and I'll tell you how."
Khaled added that he's grateful for his family and especially his son. 'My son, Asahd. He is my legacy. My love. My lion. That's what Asahd, means, lion. Love did that. That's all from the power of love."
"Here's what else changed," Khaled continued. "Every morning I tell Asahd, 'I love you. I got you,' but the truth is, he's got me' When Asahd smiles at me, it's God smiling at me. Love did that."
Finally, Khaled revealed the real motivation for naming his upcoming record Father Of Asahd. 'My whole life I thought our parents gave us our names, mine called me Khaled," he said. "But here's a major key. Our children give us the ultimate name, the greatest title, the highest honor. My son has given me my new name, Father Of Asahd." She shared recently in an Instagram post some of the personal setbacks and challenges leading into creating her new music but, "There are NO EXCUSES," she wrote. "I'm gonna choose happiness..and I can't wait to show you what I've learned/created for this third album. It's my best work yet."
In addition to two surgeries on her vocal chords, she explained to Fresh 102.7's Karen Carson, that she faced another personal challenge. She, like many others, struggles with anxiety and panic attacks.
"I was uneducated about anxiety and how it could physically rattle you," says Trainor. "I assumed no one had experienced what I was going through because when I would tell my mom 'I'm going to the emergency room because I can't breathe right now' she would be like 'no, no, I'll come rub your head.'
But, she admits, going through those tough times has helped inspire her music. "The songs that came after this, I was like, 'ha ha!' I did one song called "Treat Myself" and it was about how, finally, when my therapist looked at me and was like, 'Look at you! You're not shaking anymore and you're not miserable and sad! You're like, really happy and everything is going great for you don't forget to treat yourself and do something for you. Go get a spa day or do something'
"I bought a car and was like, 'treat myself!'" Read more

It was about1 am.My friend Manny invited me to come vibe at his studio (Penthouse in Times Square). We actually worked through the entire night upon first meeting, no sleep! I left the studio at about1 pmthe next day. Literally pulled a day of grinding from Saturday,9 amuntil Sunday,3 PM.It was so worth it, now watching the song come to life & grow!
Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself
