Luke Bryan To Be Judge On 'American Idol' Reboot

(Radio.com) Country star Luke Bryan is headed to American Idol. The singer is the second celebrity judge to join the new version of the show set for ABC alongside Katy Perry.

According to Variety, the third and final celebrity judge has yet to be added, and that pop legend Lionel Richie (who was in "advanced negotiations" with the show) is no longer in contention for the spot.

Keith Urban and Charlie Puth have also been mentioned as possible celebs to sit in the third judge's chair, although they are "unlikely" to be added. Read more here.

Ed Sheeran Announces Stadium Tour And MTV 'TRL' Premiere

(Radio.com) There's no question that Ed Sheeran is one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Now the "Shape of You" singer is set to launch a 2018 tour that will match his magnitude when he plays a series of massive stadiums across North American next year.

The tour kicks off next summer on August 18 at the legendary Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA, winding its way across America (with one stop in Canada along the way) before wrapping up in Atlanta early November.

Also of note: the tour is scheduled to stop in New Orleans on Halloween night, so fans heading to the Louisiana date should get their costumes ready for the show.

While Sheeran fans get their ticket strategy in order, the pop star is set to help launch MTV's new reboot of TRL with a live performance on Oct. 3 at 3:30 pm ET. Migos is also scheduled for a live performance during the premiere episode. See the tour dates here.

Eddie Montgomery Makes First Statement Following Troy Gentry's Death

(Radio.com) Eddie Montgomery has made his first statement following the tragic death of his longtime partner in music, Troy Gentry. Montgomery sent the message to country radio programmers along with the latest Montgomery Gentry single, "Better Me," the first track from a full album the duo completed before Gentry was killed in a helicopter crash on September 8.

"I want to thank everyone for their support and prayers," Montgomery said (via The Boot). "Our world was turned upside down in an instant, and nothing could have prepared us for this."

"I think [this new album] is the best record of our career," he added. "'Better Me' is a song we all loved, and Troy sings his a- off on it. It speaks volumes about his life and who he had become and everyone he touched and how much he loved his family. I am so proud of this song, and also to call [Gentry] my friend, my family, my brother for 30 years." Read more here.

Post Malone Shares Stage Dive Fail On Social Media

(Radio.com) Post Malone's audience in St. Louis during his show on Sunday night (Sept. 24) was apparently uninitiated in the ways of the stage dive.

Malone took a flying leap, but the fans failed to catch him. "Felt like Jack Black in School of Rock tonight when I staged dived and nobody caught my fat a�," Malone tweeted.

Drake Serves As Pallbearer At Anthony 'Fif' Soares' Funeral

(Radio.com) On September 14, Drake's close friend (and a member of his OVO crew) Anthony "Fif" Soares was shot and killed by two attackers in a Toronto apartment complex. Drake shared an Instagram tribute at the time, expressing his shock and disbelief at the sudden loss.

"RIP to one of our family members�our brother�" he wrote. "I still can't even believe this morning was real. It was a honor to have shared years together and I will always keep your memory alive�Forever Fif."

On Saturday, Drake was spotted at his late associate's funeral. Apparently, the rapper did not speak and kept a low profile during the service, TMZ reports. Photographers captured images of Drake entering and exiting the funeral where he served as a pallbearer.

An active investigation for Fif's killer is underway, but authorities reportedly had no suspects as of this weekend. Police released surveillance footage of the shooting and asked the public to supply any information they may have about the assailants. Jennifer Lopez Donates $1 Million to Puerto Rico Following Hurricane

(Radio.com) Jennifer Lopez joined New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in Puerto Rico over the weekend to provide support to those affected by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

In a press conference on Sunday (Sept. 24), the singer revealed that she'll be donating $1 million from her Las Vegas residency to Puerto Rico aid and recovery. "What's foremost in my mind and many others, is trying to figure out the best way to help," Lopez said in a statement.

"Our island of Puerto Rico has been hit by two of the most devastating hurricanes we've ever seen: Irma and Maria. Today, Puerto Rico needs our help. I urge you to support and donate to the efforts of the first lady of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rossello." Read more here.

Carrie Underwood, Dolly Parton And Vince Gill Honor Reba McEntire

(Radio.com) The Grand Ole Opry was the place to be for country fans on Friday night (September 22) as the venue celebrated the 40th Anniversary of Reba McEntire's Opry debut.

In addition to McEntire taking the stage, surprise appearances were made by Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill. After Underwood performed three songs of her own, the singer joined McEntire to duet on the country legend's Grammy-winning hit "Does He Love You."

"It's always an honor to be on this stage, especially tonight. You are an inspiration to us all," Underwood said to McEntire following their performance.

McEntire then shared with the audience that both she and Underwood are from Oklahoma, not too far away from each other. "Here we are, two little 'ol gals from Oklahoma getting to be on the stage at the Grand Ole Opry," McEntire marveled. Read more here.

'Pitch Perfect 3' Trailer Features George Michael's 'Freedom '90'

(Radio.com) A new trailer for Pitch Perfect 3 arrived and it features a George Michael classic. Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow return as part of the female a cappella crew the Barden Bellas.

In the latest installment of the franchise, the Bellas reunite for one last singing competition at an overseas USO tour and the new trailer hints a record deal for Kendrick's character Beca.

Their take on Michael's "Freedom '90," soundtracks the new clip. Pitch Perfect 3 hits theaters on December 20. Check out the new trailer here.

Eminem Fans May Soon Be Able to Own a Piece of His Royalties

(Radio.com) Eminem fans may soon be able to own a percentage of the rapper's catalog. According to a press release, a new company called Royalty Flow intends to acquire and hold royalties from music catalogs of the world's biggest music artists.

The first of these iconic music catalogs available to the public will be the production company's master sound recording royalties from the 1999-2013 recording catalog of Eminem.

You'll have to have some serious capital to get started though, minimum buy-in is expected to be $2,250 for 150 shares ($15 per share). "Royalty Flow gives investors the opportunity to participate in assets that are uncorrelated with public markets, and directly benefit in the music industry's growth," Royalty Exchange CEO and Royalty Flow's chairman Matt Smith said in a statement. Stars And Strings Lineup Announced

(Radio.com) CBS Radio will present its third annual Stars and Strings show, in honor of our nation's Veterans and their families, on Wednesday, November 15 at The Chicago Theatre in downtown Chicago.

The all-star lineup features Brad Paisley, Chris Young, Darius Rucker, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady Antebellum, and Sam Hunt with a special appearance by Lindsay Ell. Doors open at 6:30 PM; show begins at 7:30 PM. Stylz & Roman, the popular morning show duo on US99 (WUSN/Chicago), made the announcement this morning.

CBS Radio is also offering country fans an opportunity to win tickets to the show through two national contests. Midland Release 'Make a Little' Music Video

(Radio.com) Breakout country act Midland has debuted the music video for the band's second single, "Make a Little." Midland is also set to join Little Big Town and Kacey Musgraves on a massive 2018 tour.

The clip captures the guys in tour mode, opening as they stride onto the stage at a packed concert hall. It juxtaposes a live performance of the single alongside life on the road moments.

Those include the band playing some pickup baseball in an empty stadium parking lot and greeting fans lined up outside to see them perform. Watch the new video here.

Beyonce and Jay-Z Buy $26 Million Hamptons Mansion

(Radio.com) JAY-Z and Beyone's summers just got a whole lot more lavish. The pop music power couple just plunked down a cool $26 million in the posh East Hamptons, NY, beach community.

According to E! News, the mansion is a stately 12,000 square feet situated on a two-acre site. Among it's many "state of the art" amenities include bathroom sculpted out of marble from Verona, Italy.

The property is also equipped with an 1,800 square-foot guest cottage that features a living room, full kitchen, two bedrooms and bath. The couple also recently purchased an L.A. Estate for $88 Million. Read more here.

Shania Twain Shares Photos From New Movie 'Trading Paint'

(Radio.com) Shania Twain took to Instagram last week to share her excitement about working on John Travolta's the new film, Trading Paint. Twain will play the role of Becca, although it remains unclear as to what her relationship is to the other characters.

"A veteran race car driver and his son, a fellow driver, overcome family and professional conflicts, balancing competition, ego, resentment and a racing nemesis to come out stronger on the other side," reads an official synopsis on IMDB.

This won't be Twain's first time on the big screen, as she had a cameo as herself in 2004's I Heart Huckabees. Trading Paint is set for release in June 2018. Check out the photos here.
