"I can't listen to [the former] anymore. That's what pushed me out of the hip-hop scene a little," she said. On social media, rap fans went ballistic about her "dismissive" remarks. Miley responded to the uproar with an Instagram post that clarified her stance.
"So, to be clear I respect ALL artists who speak their truth and appreciate ALL genres of music (country, pop, alternative . but in this particular interview I was asked about rap)," she wrote.
The "Wrecking Ball" singer made clear that the genre itself isn't a turn-off for her, just certain elements of its popular identity. She noted that there's rap for every rap fan, including fans who aren't into materialistic bombast.
"I have always and will continue to love and celebrate hip hop as I've collaborated with some of the very best! At this point in my life I am expanding personally/musically and gravitating more towards uplifting, conscious rap!"
Miley says the shift is part of her own evolution as an artist. "As I get older I understand the effect music has on the world & Seeing where we are today I feel the younger generation needs to hear positive powerful lyrics! I am proud to be an artist without borders and thankful for the opportunity to explore so many different styles/ sounds!"

The Federal Trade Commission sent letters to 45 people after receiving complaints from Public Citizen, Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood, and the Center for Digital Democracy, reports Billboard. The groups pointed out in their letters that Instagram "has become a platform for disguised advertising directed towards young consumers." And that, according to the organizations, is against the law.
The letters explain that posts that endorse products without disclosing financial gains are against the law. The advocacy groups requested an investigation into these matters and asked for actions to be taken to enforce regulations for non-disclosed advertising through 'influencer" profiles on Instagram.
The complaints were sparked after the catastrophe that was the Fyre Festival. Kendall Jenner, Emily Ratajkowski and Hailey Baldwin were among the influencers called, 'Fyre Starters," who promoted the event. They have all been named in lawsuits and could potentially face litigation for marketing the festival without disclosing financial compensation. Read more

Several clips outside BC Place Stadium, have been shared revealing the band rehearsing tracks including 'Where The Streets Have No Name," 'New Year's Day" and 'A Sort Of Homecoming."
Of course, since the fans were stationed outside of the venue, the video footage of the side of the venue and the stadium lights don't really add to the aesthetic experience, which is raw enough as it is. But if the audio isn't satisfying enough, you might want to wait until tomorrow morning when there are sure to be numerous fan-posted clips of the actual concert.

This catchy single has a feel-good vibe that's perfect for a day by the lake or grilling with friends. "The world's in the toilet / And the market's in the tank / Well I can't fix that / But I can fix a drink," Janson sings.
Janson co-wrote the track with Chris DuBois and Ashley Gorley and revealed to Nash Country Daily that he doesn't even drink alcohol anymore. He simply loves the "whole mixology subculture," which partially inspired this next hit.
"You grow a big Civil War beard and you learn how to mix a cool drink. If I could grow a beard like that, believe me, I'd be a mixologist, 100 percent," Janson said. "I can fix a drink, and my drink of choice is a cold can of Mountain Dew, but I can fix all kinds of drinks. I've done it for years. And then when the song idea for 'Fix a Drink' came together, it felt like a no-brainer. It just works. You can be drinking a Hi-C or a Jack and Coke and it doesn't matter. It's a fun, feel-good song for the summer." Listen to "Fix A Drink"

The photo shows Minaj cuddled up next to Nas at Sweet Chick, the restaurant he co-owns in New York City. She captioned her post, writing, "Only KINGS recognize QUEENS. @sweetchicklife has the best food congrats @nas "
According to a post from producer Statik Selektah, the two were out to dinner with him to celebrate. He tagged Sweetgrass Productions, writing, "Dinner with Nas & Nicki & our Emmy. congrats @sweetgrassp"
While Minaj and Nas fans certainly want this rumor to be true, Minaj took to Twitter remark on the now trending #NasNika. She retweeted a screenshot of the hashtag with the caption 'Y'all so d silly" and a laugh-crying emoji face.
Back in January, Minaj confirmed her breakup from fellow rapper Meek Mill and stated that she was now just focusing on her music. She posted on Twitter, saying, "To confirm, yes I am single. "I was very aware that this was the first thing that people had seen from me in three years," Lorde said. "I was picking up where I left off." In addition to showing her age, Lorde wanted to depict herself as just another fan. "I always had dark lipstick on or had a weird outfit on," she said. "This time I was like, 'I want to look the way my friends see me,' I feel like I want to be any of the young people who listen to my music."
She added that the "Green Light" and its accompanying video are full of symbolism. "I knew that I wanted it to be set at night, like my real life - I'm wearing the shoes that I wear every night when I go out partying at home," she said.
While she enjoyed making the video, she said that filming the clip was somewhat of a challenge. "It was actually quite difficult to dance on the roof of a suburban at three in the morning," Lorde said. "It was a really cold night and it kept getting covered in dew. There was definitely a moment where I was like 'cars were not built to have girls dancing around and losing their mind on top of them'. It was one of the strangest things I've done." Read more

Butch formed the band with UK DJ James Grillo and UK producer Andy Jenks 5 Billion Diamonds includes Alex Lee (Goldfrapp, Strangelove, Suede), bassist Sean Cook and drummer Damon Reece (Spiritualized, Massive Attack, Elizabeth Fraser). Helen White (Alpha), Sandra Dedrick (from The Free Design) and David Schelzel (The Ocean Blue) are on board for guest vocals on other tracks.
The band has just released its first track "Gravity Rules," featuring Ebbott Lundberg from Soundtrack Of Our Lives. ''Gravity Rules' is a bit of an anomaly," Vig told NME. "It's based on a sample that plays through the whole record. James brought in a sample by a band called Les Enfants Terrible, we tried to recreate it but we just fell in love with it. The song still channels the vibe of the record - moody atmospherics, analog keyboards, chiming guitars and a minimalistic drum groove. It's one of our favorite tracks on the record."
The band's self-titled debut album debuts in August, and Vig says he hopes to take the newly minted group on the road. 'I've just been working on some movie soundtracks, and now I'm fully into the zone of working on new Garbage material. Garbage are on tour all summer, then we're looking at doing some live dates with 5 Billion Diamonds." Listen to "Gravity Rules"
