"2016 was rough, but I'm staying positive about 2017," Colbert said. "And the year is starting off great for everyone but Mariah Carey. No one knows exactly what happened. I blame Russian hackers."
He continued his defense of Carey's performance and invited her to appear on The Late Show, but then the stage lit up and he was swarmed by backup dancers and feathers, pretending to lose his way through the monologue. Watch the brief bit here:
Colbert was not alone in parodying Carey's misfortune: The San Antonio Spurs mascot performed a gag set to Mariah's "Emotions," in which things went awry. Watch both bits

Geri Halliwell (Ginger), Emma Bunton (Baby) and Melanie Brown (Scary) formed a spin-off called GEM, while Victoria Beckham (Posh) and Mel C (Sporty) opted out.
It was widely assumed that Posh was too busy with her fashion empire, while Sporty said the time just wasn't right. The two holdouts gave a performance together at the Beckham's New Year's Eve Party, where they fittingly sang "2 Become 1," sending a message of solidarity to the Spice Girls who "reunited" without them.
True to form, Sporty carries the vocal responsibilities while Posh kind of dances and encourages her former bandmate. The private event footage surfaced on YouTube as a compilation of Snapchats, which reveal that Mel also sang Sia's "Cheap Thrills" to ring in 2017. Read more and watch the performance

In terms of effects, "Snow Cat" feels like a nostalgic throwback to the 1980s. The video moves continuously forward on something of a linear loop. Viewers fly through lead singer Davey Havok's eye while the band whirls by playing their respective instruments in space. "Expanding endlessly from an empty room, the 'Snow Cats' video animates a cyclical struggle with the surreal colors of applied persona and identity," Havok said in a statement.
AFI (The Blood Album) marks the band's first studio album since 2013's Burials. Their new album will be released on January 20th. Watch the new music video
