New York, NY - Republic/Universal Records recording artists 3 Doors Down will be bringing a little piece of American Rock N Roll to US Sailors overseas this fall when they embark on a goodwill tour for the United States Navy.
In early October the band will play for Sailors and their families stationed in the Mediterranean and those forward deployed in the 5th Fleet. The band will also have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform onboard a deployed US aircraft carrier. While in the Mediterranean, the band will perform at Naval Station Rota, Spain, Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy, and Naval Support Activity Naples, Italy. This is part of a goodwill tour arranged by Navys Morale Welfare & Recreation division (MWR) and Glenn Smith Presents, Inc.
On November 12th, 3 Doors Down will release their much anticipated sophomore album entitled Away From The Sun. This follow up to their debut album, The Better Life, was recorded this year in Seattle and produced by legendary producer Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Unwritten Law among others.)

The Better Life debuted at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart when it was released on February 8th, 2000 and wasted no time in jumping up the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart.
