According to reports at Slashs and Duffs websites and Blabbermouth.net Kelly is currently working with the group as their frontman. Joshua Todd of Buckcherry was the original pick for vocalist of the group but that didnt pan out and Todd has formed a new band called SHOTSFIRED which he debuted at the antiMUSIC / Happenin Harry party a few weeks ago in Hollywood. (see story)
Kelly has reportedly not left Neurotica but the band left their record label the WWEs Smackdown Records towards the end of their stint on this years Ozzfest when it became apparent that the label didnt have the resources or infrastructure to give the band the push they needed. Neurotica are currently looking for a new label home.
We are currently trying to contact Kelly to get more details and will pass those along when we have them.
Update 10/13/02
We still havent heard back from Kelly but Slashs official site Posted some new info. Contrary to their prior announcement that Kelly has officially joined the band, they are now saying that Kelly hasnt been given the job yet. The band is still auditioning other singers and dont want to leave any stone unturned in the search for the perfect frontman for the group.
So it appears that Kelly is a strong contender for the job but he hasnt been offered it yet and in the end the band may go with another singer. Josh Todd of Buckcherry was originally set to be the frontman for the group and the code name whispered around Hollywood for the band wiht Todd as frontman was Buck N Roses. As we have seen Todd didnt end up with the gig and instead started a new band of his own called Shotsfired. Another singer often mentioned as a strong contender for the slot is Stargunns Shooter Jennings (son of Country Music legend Waylon Jennings).
We will keep you informed of the latest developments concerning this band.
