We have news for the Third Eye Blind fans that have patiently been awaiting the follow up to the groups 1999 album Blue.  The band reportedly has 26 songs almost completed with an anticipated 12 tracks that will make the final cut for their third album tentatively titled Crystal Baller.

VH1 is reporting that three tracks will feature guest stars. Fred Durst has reportedly co-authored a song titled Misfit with 3EBs Stephan Jenkins. Durst is said to also play guitar on the finished track.  Andrew W.K. will also make a special appearance on the album, providing backing vocals to a song titled Messed Up Kid and the song Self Righteous will feature guest vocals from Moldy Peaches Kimya Dawson.

"We did a couple of skits, and he was rapping on one part, while I was rapping over another," Jenkins told VH1. "But then he had a guitar there and he started playing it and he's a really funky guitar player. So I started singing, and we wrote this song I really like. It's great because it doesn't sound like what either one of us normally does. It was a really organic collaboration.  Fred wrote the chords and I did the lyrics and melody and then Arion wrote the bridge."

As to the appearance of Andrew WK, Stephan told VH1 the following, "At first we were like, 'What, is this a joke?' But then we realized it's just pure party energy. He is really there to make you party hard. So I brought him a bottle of Jack Daniel's because I thought it was a fitting gift. Then we went to his bus, and I realized there was no booze on his bus. He was drinking bottled water. So I think partying hard is a state of mind for him."

Stephan asked Andrew to come by the studio the next day and was surprised to learn that Andrew was a big Third Eye Blind fan. "It turned out he was really knowledgeable about Third Eye Blind songs, Jenkins told VH1. So he came out and sang, and his voice is so hilarious because it sounds like it's doubled and compressed, but it's not."
