The Russians have completed the deal with representatives of the popstar to name Bass their candidate for the next space launch to visit the International Space Station.
Bass will have to ante up a reported $20 million to make the trip, but his representatives have said that sponsors have already agreed to provide the funding and also in the works, a network television special covering his trip and the training he must complete prior to launch.
The only thing that stands in his way now is the approval of the other International Space station partners that includes NASA, the European Space Agency and the Canadian Space Agency.
NASA spokesperson Dwayne Brown addressed what the partners are looking at in considering the popstar for the trip, "We're continuing to assess his candidacy. But it was determined that more information is required. For instance, he needs to speak Russian. He doesn't have to be an expert, but he needs to know enough for a contingency. So we need to know, what level of fluency are we looking for?"
David Krieff of Destiny Productions who are representing Bass is optimistic about the Space Station Partners giving their final approval. " The good news is that we've gotten to this point, where people didn't think we would get to. Said David Krieff of the quest to send the boyband member into space, And now that we're here, I really can see how farfetched the whole thing must have seemed at first. But what's pushed it over the edge is how dedicated Lance is. He's unbelievable."
