Tommy Lee is being sued by the parents of the 4 year-old boy who drowned while attending a birthday party at Lees Malibu home last summer. Daniel Karven-Veres drowned to death in Lees pool on June 16th during a birthday party for Lees 5 year old son Brandon. Karven-Veres parents, Ursula Karven and James Veres, filed a lawsuit on February 15th in Los Angeles Superior Court charging Lee with wrongful death, premises liability, general negligence, and negligent supervision.
The Los Angeles Police Department declared the childs death an accident and did not file criminal charges against Lee.
The lawsuit claims that the children were not properly supervised. The suit reads in part, "no adult, hired professional, lifeguard, or otherwise, was designated to ensure the safety of the young children swimming in the pool, and to be responsible in the event life-saving procedures were necessary."
The lawsuit accuses Lee of leaving Daniel Karven-Veres unattended in the pool and that Lee "allowed to swim while no competent adult, or person acting in a supervisory capacity, watched carefully to ensure his safety."
Soon after the childs death Lee told the
press that he was devastated by the accident. Daniel Karven-Veres parents
are seeking damages in their suit to be determined at the trial.
