The Australian music news site Undercover is reporting that lead vocalist Craig Nicholls went a little crazy during sound check and decided to trash the set just like it was a typical Vines concert. Nicholls was said to have destroyed a plexiguard around the drumkit during the end of the bands performance of Outthaway. As a result, the Tonight Show decided that the show could not go on with the Vines and pulled the band from the episode.
During his monologue at the beginning of the show Tuesday night, Leno told the studio audience, "How many people came to see The Vines, the Australian band? They were supposed to be here. What happened? They got in a fight. He hit the drummer on the head or something. They are not here. They were loaded at 6 o'clock".
