The Associated Press is reporting that rapper Dr. Dre gave LAs hip-hip radio station Power 106 $1 Million dollars for the stations fundraising drive. Power 106 (KPWR) is hoping to raise at least 1.6 million for the American Red Cross.
Creed frontman Scott Stapp is also giving monetary support to the relief effort. Stapp through his Arms Wide Open Foundation has pledged $50,000 to the New Yorkers for Children organization.
"Everyone at the Foundation is just shocked and saddened, not only by the events of last week, but by what they mean for far too many children," said the Creed frontman in a statement "This is the best way we know of right now to help them. We invite our supporters to join with us, to help us reach out to these children who need our love and financial support."
Stapp also pledged the proceeds from a
celebrity softball game that was held on Saturday (9-22) in Orlando, Fl.
Additionally, the Arms Wide Open Foundation will also match other donations
given to the New Yorkers for Children organization up to an additional
$50,000.
