Press Release
NICKELBACKs How You Remind Me continues to explode at rock radio as it races up Billboard and Radio & Records rock charts to the #1 slot and racks up more and more listeners every week.
How You Remind Me, the first single from their SILVER SIDE UP sophomore album (which came out September 11 on Roadrunner/Island Def Jam), has quickly found itself atop Billboards Mainstream Rock Tracks chart after only eight weeks, bumping out Staind, who held the #1 slot for 20 weeks. The single is receiving over 2,100 spins on 96 rock stations across the US.
The song also jumps to #1 on Billboards Modern Rock Tracks chart, generating over 2,600 spins on 78 modern rock radio stations across the country, with 244 newly-added spins.
In addition, Billboards Active Rock Tracks chart has the song bulleted at #4 this week, and its #3 on the Heritage Rock Tracks chart. The song is also soaring up Billboards Hot 100 chart, where it currently sits bulleted at #64 this week (it debuted at #75 last week). Between all the different rock Billboard-reporting formats, How You Remind Me is currently being heard by over 25 million listeners.
And the impressive chart and airplay success doesnt end there. According to Radio & Records, How You Remind Me is #3 on their Active Rock chart, #2 on the Rock chart and #2 on the Alternative chart. This means that according to R&R-reporting stations, the song is being heard by over 44 million people in addition to the Billboard-reporting stations.
On the video front, the Brothers Strause-directed clip is in heavy rotation on MTV, MTV2 and MTVx. VH1 added the video last week and will be airing the video during their nightly Rock Show program.
The albums critical praise is starting to emerge as well. As described on E! Online: NICKELBACKs second album delivers grande-size, Zeppelin-esque guitar anthems (Hollywood, Hangnail) and ragged pop (Money Bought) tempered by the odd emotion-wracked power ballad (How You Remind Me) thatll keep the Zippos busy come show time.
Amazon.com proclaims: The post-grunge, alt-metal combo backing these songs (Never Again, How You Remind Me, Woke Up This Morning) packs as strong a punch as the lyrical material, going hard with lots of hooks. The additional slide guitar on Hangnail and sludgy, alt-metal riffs on Hollywood, Money Bought, and Where Do I Hide add a little meat to the alt-rock bones on SILVER, elevating Nickelback above the heap of copycat rockers clogging their airwaves.
Look for NICKELBACK-CHAD KROEGER (lead
vocals, guitars), RYAN PEAKE (guitars, vocals), MIKE KROEGER (bass), RYAN
VIKEDAL (drums)-on tour with 3 Doors Down. Their own headlining tour
starts October 1 in New Orleans, LA. On October 13, theyll play
an extra special show at Sammy Hagars annual Cabo Wabo Mexican Meltdown
show at his club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, along with Godsmack and Jerry
Cantrell.
