Black Sabbath is already making post Ozzfest touring plans. The legendary Godfathers of Metal have just announced a series of headlining dates to begin after the Ozzfest wraps on Aug 12th in Holmdel, N.J.
According to the official Ozzfest website, Disturbed will be opening for Black Sabbath on this headlining tour. antiMUSIC has learned that Drowning Pool has also been approached about joining the tour. Both bands are currently on the Ozzfest.
Disturbed was originally scheduled to play the second stage at this years Ozzfest but after the huge crowd reaction to the band at the tour opener in their hometown of Chicago, Ozzfest organizers quickly bumped them to the main stage.
Drowning Pool released their debut album Sinner a few short weeks ago and already these Texas hard rockers have generated a tremendous buzz in music circles. Propelled by their hit single Bodies, which has been receiving a lot of attention from radio and MTV, their album debuted in the Top 100 when it was released three weeks ago. As of last week sinner had climbed to No 59 on the Billboard charts, with no sign of letting up.
Drowning Pool is also a contender for the opening slot with Sevendust, when they hit the road this fall.
We will have more on this story as it develops.
