Stabbing Westward are preparing to release the second single from their self titled CD. The song Angel will hit radio on August 14th as the follow up to their current single So Far Away. The band will make a special appearance on the Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn Friday night (7-27-01). They are expected to perform material from their latest album release.
Stabbing Westward was forced to pull out
of the Beyond Good and Evil tour with the Cult and Monster Magnet earlier
this month when drummer Andy Kubiszewski had to undergo minor surgery.
The band will return to the stage in a series of radio festivals, their
first appearance will be Sat (7-28) at Q101s Wickerfest in Chicago, Il.
Speaking of Chicago, windy city natives Enuff Znuff are not going to let a few broken bones and injuries stop them from touring. Lead vocalist Donnie Vie was injured during the bands performance last week at the Polaris Amphitheater in Columbus, Oh. Vie was injured after jumping from a monitor intending to land on the stage but lost his footing and wound up in the orchestra pit. Vie was rushed to a near by hospital where it was determined that he had fractured his heel and two ribs. While being treated Vie went to work converting the paramedics and other patients into fans. We now know he was successful because the paramedic who initially treated Vie logged on to the bands official message board to give fans a full report of the incident.
The band has been on the road all summer
on the Glam Slam Metal Jam tour with Poison, Warrant and Quiet Riot.
According to a spokesperson for the band, Donnie isnt the only one touring
with broken bones, Drummer Ricky Parent reportedly broke his hand in a
motorcycle accident prior to the tour. Enuff ZNuff co-founder Chip
Znuff said in a press release, "Ricky's touring with a broken hand, Donnie
with broken ribs, Monaco with a broken heart, and me with broken promises...but
we're still going out there and playing, thanks to the grace of God!"
Last but not least, VH1's Bands on the
Run winners Flickerstick have signed to Epic Records. According to a report
from All Star News, Epic will remaster the bands indy debut Welcoming
Home the Astronauts and re-release the CD in October.
