Actress and pop singer Jennifer Lopez will not be testifying in the trial against her ex-boyfriend, rapper Sean Puffy Combs.
Lopez and Combs released a joint statement Tuesday night outlining why Lopez will not be called to the stand in Puffys defense.
Combs:``Since I intend to testify on my own behalf, I feel it is no longer necessary for Jennifer to be involved in these proceedings.''
Lopez :``If he (Combs) and his lawyers change their minds and require me to testify, I will be there immediately to tell the truth.''
Combs is currently on trial for bribery and illegal gun charges and faces up to 15 years if he is convicted. Combs was arrested after a shooting at a New York nightclub that lead to a high speed chase. Combs faces bribery charges because of allegations that he offered members of his entourage money to take the fall for him by claiming ownership of a gun found in Combs possession.
Combs is expected to take the stand on Thursday (March 1st).
