ROCKFORD, Ill.Following its 1999 Cheap Trick fan convention, Cheap Trick returned to its hometown of Illinois second city to celebrate its 25th anniversary in a star-studded Silver Anniversary Homecoming Concert. The resulting two-CD set, titled Silver, will be released on Cheap Trick Unlimited Records (through Proper Sales & Distribution) on February 27, 2001.

The set will be available at retail as well as http://www.cheaptrick.com. List price is $24.98.

The concert, held at Rockfords Davis Park, was attended by 15,000 rabid Cheap Trick fans who converged from all parts of the globe to hear a comprehensive performance of 29 songs that marked the 25-year point in Cheap Tricks career. The three-hour show contained a song from every album. A number of special guests were featured, including Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins), Slash (Guns N Roses), Art Alexakis (Everclear), Jon Brant (Cheap Tricks bassist in the mid-80s, now a leading advertising music player) and the Nielsen and Zander offspring, plus members of the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, the Harlem High School Choir from Loves Park, Ill., and Rockfords Phantom Regiment Drum Corp.

The concert, attended by Cheap Trick fans from as far as Australia and Japan, was comprised of three 45-minute sets, plus encores.  Songs such as Dream Police and The Flame backed with a full string section, or Just Got Back with three drummers plus Billy Corgan on guitar, were among the standout moments.

The night was capped when Cheap Trick marched the Phantom Regiment Drum Corp off the front of the stage, through the middle of the crowd, and right out the gate with the entire crowd in tow.

Cheap Trick captured the events of this legendary evening through the use of a 102-channel tape deck plus a nine-camera video shoot. Producer was Harry Witz, who has also worked with the Rolling Stones and AC/DC.

Its kind of nice to be able to bring it back home for the home folksat least once every 25 years, says Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos. It was our way of saying,  Heres what weve been doing lately. Also, since we have at least one song from every album, its an education to those who only know us from our greatest hits.

For those unable to attend this historic concert in person, the band offers its sympathies plus this wonderful opportunity to experience the evening at home with the Silver two-CD set.

The tracks include Aint That A Shame, I Want You To Want Me, Oh, Candy, That 70s Song, Voices, If You Want My Love, Shes Tight, Cant Stop Falling Into Love, Gonna Raise Hell, I Cant Take It, Take Me To The Top, It All Comes Back To You, Tonight Its You, Time Will Let You Know, Worlds Greatest Lover, The Flame, Stop This Game, Dream Police, I Know What I Want, Woke Up With A Monster, Never Had A Lot To Lose, Youre All Talk, Im Losing You, Hard To Tell, Oh Claire, Surrender, Just Got Back, Day Tripper and Who DKing.

Cheap Trick will shortly announce plans for a DVD version of Silver.
